The center of the community activity -town meetings,plays , and concerts 

The chruch provided eduacation for some , and ity helped the poor and sick 

So religious that they told you what time to cook your eggs

Most christians hoped to go on a pilgrimage at some point in their lives

Pilgrims went on these journeys to show their devotion to god , as an act of penance for their sins ,or hopes of being cured of an illness

His amusing tales are stories that a group of pilgrims tell to entertain each other as they travel to the shrine of saint thomas becket and a priority 

The second type of extraordinary service involved fighting in the crusades 

Some people went on crusades to seek wealth and some to seek adventure
