The Natives Migrate to and Throughout the Americas......................

Migration to America started with the Siberians via Beringia about 21,000 years ago. Beringia was a land bridge in the form of a glacier before it became the bearing strait. The cause of the migration was actually the food source for them. These Siberians were nomadic so they followed their food source. In this case, their food source was the mammoths.
So the effect of this migration is, well, the discovery of the Americas. Below is a picture of the bearing strait land bridge

In 1492, A man from Italy, Christopher Columbus, wanted to test out a theory that if you sail westward from Europe, you will find Asia or India.
Remember, there was no knowledge of the Americas in the 1400's.
So with the approval of King Ferdinand and Queen Isabela, Columbus sailed and found the Caribbean islands and he claimed it for Spain. He found America and claimed it for Spain.
He died believing that this land was in Asia, but people learned that this wasn't Asia or India. This was the new world.
Spaniards came over and colonized most of Mexico and South America while also claiming most of Middle America, southeastern north America and all of the western parts of North America.
Below is a map of Spain's new empire in the new world.

The Effects of the Columbian Exchange on the Old and New World......................................................

The Columbian Exchange was the widespread transfer of animals, plants, culture, people, diseases, technology and ideas between North America and Europe in the 15th and 16th centuries after Christopher Columbus' voyage.
There were many good things about this exchange, new things were brought to people in the old world and helpful things were brought to the new world.
There were Few bad things about the exchange but they were VERY bad. At the time, the Europeans made the American Indians their slaves. But with the introduction of diseases to them from the old world, approximately 90% of the American Indians died off leading to the enslavement of Africans which affected them until 1865, 200-300 years later.
Below is a picture of what was traded between the old and new world via the Columbian exchange.

The New England Colonies enjoyed a relatively significant degree of political autonomy until King James II ascended the British throne in 1685, but England's 1688 Revolution removed James from power. Many of the New England Colonies continued to initiate legislation and vote on taxation until England asserted its supreme authority in levying taxes during the second half of the 1700s.

BELOW IS A SHORT YOUTUBE VIDEO EXPLAINING THE TYPES OF GOVERNMENT AND WHAT COLONIES USED THEM (I did not use the information given in this video)
