All an attempt to categorize people mainly by their physical characteristics, a social construct created by humans that divides people into distinct groups based on behaviors and physical differences. Racism is known to be the discrimination or antagonism against a race because of their physical and behavior differences. It can be by an individual, community, or institution that shows discrimination against a person because of racial group they belong to. However, there is a big difference between the two: racism revolves around beliefs, racism comes from people thinking they are superior or unequal distribution of power because of race while race is something that is categorized. The way race is a social construct is by white supremacists creating the idea that white people are a superior race compared to others. An example of this is in the 1860's where at the time black people were seen as an inferior race and were portrayed as criminals that threatened to commit harm or rape by white people implementing that idea onto their communities. White people also created the idea of segregation by separating the luxuries they had access to, while leaving black people with worse services and the concept of racism went as far to the point where white supremacists began to attack innocent blacks by hanging them and making them seem like bad people that shouldn't exist. The same cruel treatment applied to Hispanics/ Latinos as they were placed to live in poor, dangerous areas run by gangs while also having financial troubles. In simple terms, some whites set the idea that they were better than any other race.

For example back when racism was at its peak people would always say the most foul things to someone and make life extremely uninhabitable for those who looked different from them and then that would just be the “norm” - which is how it adapts -. Then as things were changing people wouldn’t just say or do the worst things they would let their children see that and encourage them that it was okay to do those heinous things - that's how it would evolve -. Over the years racism, if anything, has gotten worse, just now people have learned to cover it up better. Back then, let's say the 1900's, people would be very open about. Black people would even go as far as calling each other the N- slur when it was used as a bad thing, white people saying it to black people as a way to degrade them. Now black people were using it to embrace themselves. As of 2024 if someone were to be racist to someone else, they would immediately be cancelled and anything they are associated with would go down the drain.
