*Definition- Propositional thought is basically when you think using statements that can be true or false. It's like being able to handle abstract ideas and figure out how different concepts relate to each other.

*Why is it important?- This thinking is super important because it helps with critical thinking and problem-solving. Whether working through a math problem, making a decision, or evaluating an argument, making sense of complex information.

*Use one of the Padlet features

Vocab Padlet #6 Logical Necessity

*Definition- Logical necessity means something has to be true no matter what, given the rules of logic. It's like, if your starting point is true, then the conclusion has to be true too.

*Why is it important?- This matters because it keeps our reasoning solid. When something is logically necessary, it means we can trust our conclusions as long as our starting points are right. This is super important in math, science, philosophy, and even everyday decision-making.

*Create a mnemonic device or "tip" for remembering- Think of logical necessity like a chain of dominoes. If the first one falls (your true starting point), then the last one has to fall too (the conclusion). Just remember, if the start is true, the end has to follow.

Definition: a child who perceives that they (the child) are the center of everyone's focus.

Why is it important? This is important because this can play a large role in one's self-esteem along with their overall perception of what other people think of them.

Example: Personal Relation

When I was a child, and even now, I still sometimes think that everyone in the room is watching me. No, it is not out of a way that I want everyone to be watching me. But in a more nervous sense, where I am nervous about everyone watching all the embarrassing things that I'm doing. and going through this is I think a child played a large involvement in my self-esteem, how I thought of myself, and how I believed other people perceived me.

Definition: The period of vocational development in early and middle childhood in which children gain insight into career options by fantasizing about them. Distinguished from tentative period and realistic period.

Why is it important? The fantasy period is important because it helps children explore different careers through imagination. It allows them to dream about what they might like to be when they grow up. This early thinking builds interest and excitement about the future. It also lays the foundation for more serious career choices later in life.

Association: Create an analogy

The fantasy period is like trying on costumes during playtime. Just as children dress up as firefighters, doctors, or astronauts to pretend and explore, they imagine different jobs to see what feels exciting or fun. This helps them playfully understand the world of work. Later, like choosing a real outfit for an important event, they start making more realistic career choices.

Definition: The period of vocational development in which older adolescents and young adults focus on a general vocational category and, within it, experiment for a time before settling on a single occupation. Distinguished from fantasy period and tentative period.

Why is this important?

It helps individuals form a more grounded and practical understanding of themselves, their capabilities, and the world around them, leading to better goal-setting, decision-making, and identity formation.

Lyric Connection:

"The Climb" by Miley Cyrus

"Ain't about how fast I get there / Ain't about what's waiting on the other side / It's the climb"

These lyrics reflect the realistic period, when teens shift from dreaming to evaluating what it takes to reach their goals.
