Geisha is a type of art practice many people think wrongly of them. They are flower decorators, tea servers, entertainers by conversation. 
Toro Nagashi is the celebration where they release decorated lanterns into a river and this represents spirits making it to the after life
They are entertainers they serve at parties that contain japanese culture and music.

Maiko and geisha wear different things

They cover their faces in oshiri which has proven to cause severe health effects older geisha do not wear oshiri

Ohaguro was not only for Geishas. But used to be for women. It is almost like a grill which decorates teeth. Except they aren’t gold or any color but they are black. They are not used anymore

How to get a geisha you must contact a Okiya . You don’t choose your own geisha.

A danna is a rich wealthy man he pays for the geisha because it does take time and money to become a proper geisha
