Hannah devoted her own life to helping Jewish people in Hungary. She became a paratrooper who was trained to rescue Jews in 1943. She was a paratrooper for Britain and trained in Egypt. When she crossed the Hungary boarder, she was caught by the Nazis almost immediately. After her capture, she was brutally tortured. She is very well known for her bravery as she refused to wear a blindfold when the firing squad was about to kill her. She said that she wanted to face her murderers head on.
