Spain is famous for it's beautiful landscapes and incredible food. Most of the well known recipes are the breads, wines, chocolates, pastas and salads, but the Spanish people have created many more recipes that are used frequently around the world. Some of the other Spanish recipes are Croquettes; small rolls of vegetable, meat or fruit fried in breadcrumbs, Paella; a seafood dish commonly made with rice, prawns, mussles and peas, and Pulpo a la gallega; boiled octopus, macerated in paprika, rock salt and a small amount of olive oil. These dishes, like most other Spanish dishes, all share similar ingredients due to what the Spanish have available.

Spanish foods today have impacted majorly on Australia's culture and cuisine. We use plenty of seafood, eggs, wine and herbs in our cooking, not to mention olive oil and pastas. Those recipes have become pretty iconic and natural here for Australians. Some for instance being, omelettes, cold pasta salads, garlic prawns, wines and more. As their foods change in Spain, the recipes we tend to make change too, following the traditional recipes as well as the new ones. Although we have adapted most of their recipes to suit our lifestyles and tastes, they still remain their Spanish origins.

Croquettes and Australia's Nutritional Guide

Croquettes are small breadcrumb covered and fried wraps of meat, cheese, vegetables or fruits. Looking at Australia's nutrition guide, croquettes are good, but only in moderation. If you make a batch of croquettes the approximate amount should eat per day to have is five or six a day.

There is seventy-five grams of cheese, two cups of milk and seventy-five grams of butter in an average croquette. According to Australia's nutritional guide, there should be less dairy in the small snack. That, and there should be more meat, vegetables or fruits in the center of the croquettes instead of different cheeses.
