Borders were shifted during the High Middle Ages especially since there was a large population increase and expansion normally warranted war.

The High Middle Ages were sort of like the industrial revolution. It was a time where Europe became a lot more organized especially seeing as barbarian attacks stopped, and the Carolingian Renaissance brought about scientific breakthroughs and philosophy and the arts. It is also a lot like the US now because of the population increase in both Europe (during) and the US now. He fought wars against the English to take control of French territories.

Estates were social classes, three in number. The clergy was the first, the nobles were the second, and the peasants were the third.

Norman knights received parcels of land from the king.

English monarchy was enlarged under Henry II. Increased the number of criminal cases. He also creates means of taking property cases  from local courts into royal courts.

The Magna Carta or the Great Charter was the feudal relationship between kings and vasalls. It was used to limit the power of nobles so they didn't rival the king.

In return for protecting the pope he was crowned emperor of the Romans.

Frederick I ruled the holy roman empire, and he tried taking over parts of Italy. He got the name "Barbarossa" from the Italians which means red-beard (Rotbart in German)

Frederick II was ruler of the Holy Roman Empire as well as sicily
