This is the most important pillar, it relates back to the Jewish sh’ma, it’s where Muslims declare belief of one God and cherish it several times a day, they also proclaim their creed, when they have a newborn they whisper it into the babies ear so it will be their first words.
Similarities- it is similar as we do pray to God everyday and similar to the whisper of the creed it can be similar to the baptism
Differences- the differences are how they say a creed everyday, another thing is how they are required to pray several times a day while Catholics aren’t required it’s more as we should pray and this celebration shows a declaration of the faith in Islam

The celebration requires Muslims to pray at certain times I. The day, they are required to pray five times a day, they also must cleanse themselves in a washing called the wudu, they must also wear the proper clothing for the washing and praying, they pray at sunrise, mid day, between afternoon and sunset, end of daylight , and night.
Similarities- similarities Catholics have are that they do pray, as we usually pray when we wake up or before a meal and when we go to bed, and similar to how they face the Kabah and we face the cross.
Differences- differences are that Muslims have to be specifically dressed when they pray while we can pray usually in whatever clothing we wish, and if we don’t have a cross in the room we usually pray beside our bed facing up, we face up towards heaven compared to the direction of the Kabah.

The celebration of almsgiving to show worship towards God and it’s a must not optional, the believe that giving alms is a way to be free to allah, you’re supposed to give to a person beyond their needs. The almsgiving from a simple smile to helping out in a community or charity.
Similarities- The similarities are basically the same we all are required through one of the sacraments to give alms form the smallest hug or compliment to the biggest community project or saving lives.
Differences- the only difference is that it is a requirement to allah, while we’re not essentially required it is still on the surface of being required.

The Hajj is the great pilgrimage to the city of Mecca to see the Ka’bah, it is held in the twelfth month of the Islamic calendar. It’s required in one Muslims life to visit and make the trip to the kabah, they connect back to the events of Abraham, it is a way for them to connect and truly dedicate to the one true God. They take caravans and stay in country oriented groups to make this great and physically tough journey.
Similarities- similarities are how we both worship God and we take time and make trips smaller than the Muslim to church and we go and pray towards God as they have the Kabah in Mecca Catholics have the monstrance where we believe Jesus is in.
Differences- differences for the hajj are compared the giant box where they believe the one true God is we have the monstrance which is kept in the church, compared to Muslims Catholics don’t travel miles and miles and have all these requirements to see the Kabah, Catholics go to church to see Jesus and God, also the church is welcome to all compared to Mecca which only Muslims can come into.
