In Sitka, there are many renewable resources which we can use as food. A big food source will be fish. As said before, there are many freshwater streams and lakes in Sitka that we can fish in to find food. Another renewable resource that we will be using to survive are crops. Sitka is surrounded by trees, so clearly the soil is right for growing things. We can grow things like corn, wheat, carrots, and more.

Nonrenewable resources are resources that once used up, cannot be replenished. These resources include things like coal, natural gas, gold, and iron. Fossil fuels are nonrenewable resources that are created from the remains of plants and animals over millions of years. An example of a fossil fuel is petroleum (oil). Nuclear Fuels are nonrenewable. Nuclear fuel is uranium found underground. There is a uranium deposit under Sitka. This nonrenewable resource can be used when our civilization runs out of fossil fuels, uranium can be used to create energy for Sitka for a long time.

The Trans-Alaska pipeline System is a pipeline used for moving oil it is pumped and made into a gas. It's used for many things such as gas for cars, heating homes, and much more. The pipeline was made so that the oil is moved safely and doesn't hurt the environment so for us we can get oil and use it for making our houses heated in the winter and if we need to travel and do other things than we are also covered for that too. When we get the oil and gas we can travel to the Wishbone hill coal mine in the Matanuska Valley, Alaska, by Usibelli Coal Mine, Inc. The site is approximately 5 miles west of Sutton, AK. It is estimated to contain 14 million tons of bituminous coal.
