A. Any child without cognitive abilities can learn any language with equal ease.
-False, this is because children mostly learn language through interaction. The language their parents or surrounding people, speak to them in will be an easy language for them to pick up. That being said, if a child who is surrounded by English speakers tried to learn French, they would take longer to master that language compared to how easier it would be for them to learn English.

J.Learning a second language takes no more time than learning a first language.
-False, language acquisition is different for everyone. For teachers, the diagram means to say that the Rules of English are as wide as an ocean and that as a good teacher, we are only a ship that can explore a part of this “grammar ocean” . The linguists(Formal & Applied) are submarines and cruise ships that can explore a greater part of the “grammar ocean.” Meanwhile the part that we teachers actually teach to students is smaller than what we actually know. 6. For students this diagram means to say that the rules of grammar we learn are a lot compared to the amount of rules that we actually use in real life.
6.

MELU, GLENNA L.
7. What characterizes the incompetent Monitor users?
- Most of the learners of second language dwell more on grammar rules and tend to correct themselves compromising fluency in expressing thoughts because they use monitor often. On the other hand, learners who do not self-correct and think there were no mistakes while they are talking, they connect the way they speak with their stock knowledge, let's say something about a target language they are familiar with. They do not want use the things they gained from formal studies, not even mindful whether the way they talk is accurate or not.
8. What grammar rules are likely to be grasped unconsciously by children in English.?
- Young children are natural language acquirers, they are self-motivated to pick up language without conscious learning, unlike adolescents and adults. They have the ability to imitate pronunciation and work out the rules for themselves. Any idea that learning to talk in English is difficult does not occur to them unless it’s suggested by adults, who themselves probably learned English academically at a later age through grammar-based text books.

3.) Why is grammar concious learning?
First of all English is not our mother tongue. With this reason we do not often use English resulting to grammatical error in speaking. English grammar is hard because it lacks an intrinsic connection to our spoken language.

4.) How can we condition learners to effectively use the Monitoring Hypothesis in learning grammar?
According to the research of Gass and Selinker (1994) there are three conditions to apply monitor theory to a newly learned system. First is time. Second language learners need enough time to remember their prior knowledge and apply it in a way that communicates, learners need to think consciously about the principles learned. Second is focus on the form. It is also important to be aware of the way we communicate, the form and not just the meaning we want to convey. Some common mispronunciation errors that learners misuse. Third is the know the rule.Second language learners need to know the rules of the target language in order to communicate effectively. Understandable, understandable and clear.

Campos, Sharmaine S.
1. What characterizes under-users of grammar?
- learners depend only on their acquired system, they don’t self –correct if they don’t feel an error during their utterances, they associate the way the speak with previous knowledge about the target language they know, they barely pay attention to the formal knowledge they received and they don’t want to use it, whether they speak correctly or not.
2. Aside from the example given in our main reference (p. 86, Krashen); what grammatical rules applies to the conscious users or the Monitor learners.
- The acquirer must be focused on correctness: He or she must be thinking about form, and it is difficult to focus on meaning and form at the same time.
-The acquirer/learner must have time to use the monitor: Using the monitor requires the speaker to slow down and focus on form.

NACNAS, Clencent P.

9. What makes self-correction effective and ineffective in learning grammar?
In learning grammar, the effectivity of self-correction may vary depending on the learner involved. Does the learner have any direct guidance and/or direct feedback on his/her errors and manner of self correction? The types of error may also be considered. In a study made by Solomon and Tesfay conducted on 1995, self-correction is more effective than when a teacher is directly involved in the corrections of the errors made by the learners. It is only when the students totally fail to understand and correct their errors that direct feedback is needed. Ineffectiveness of self-correction will always be present if there is no guidance from a teacher or facilitator when the learner totally fail to understand and correct his/her error/s. Thus, direct feedback is needed when that happens for the learning process to become effective.

10. When teaching verbs to grade 7, how can inductive teaching and deductive teaching be done?
Deductive teaching may be done by presenting a rule or a statement of what a verb is and then presenting an example in which the rule is applied. The learners then can give some examples of verbs. In inductive teaching, the teacher will present examples of verb from which the rule is inferred and then ask the students to give more of the examples until the learners can discover what a verb is.
