The most important skills required for 21st century education, such as critical thinking, communication, collaboration, and creativity can incorporate well in gamification of teaching and learning process too. Students can brainstorm their ideas creatively. Students are required to complete a quest with collaboration embedded every step of the way and teach each other how to complete a task. Students also encouraged students to “generate connections, build arguments, and support claims.” Students thinking needed to be “systematic and include deductive and inductive reasoning for critical thinking and problem solving.”

Since grades seems to fail as a motivation factor for the students to learn, gamification is a good idea to be introduced in education 4.0. It is because the use of game design, elements and mechanics can enhance students’ learning retention and can increase students’ motivation through engagement.
