     For example, Chinese students have totally different cultural ideas about study. Chinese students are highly motivated to get achievement in the study by extremely hard work, whereas American students are self-directed learners.
      Another way that culture restricted students to get involved in American universities is that Chinese students are not likely to ask for help from their advisers and professors. However, American universities not only underline individuals’ research, but also emphasize teamwork and cooperation.

His experience showed how Asian, specially Chinese people, are discriminated in the United States when studying abroad. He experienced countless discrimination during classes. Once the professor was at an college, studying business related courses, the professor was the only one who was from Asia in his class. The rest of class showed him with disrespect, such as throwing water bottle to him, and named Chinese people "Sick Man of East Asia". The professor explained all these details without any emotions, as a result, the entire class laughed except Jiu,  the only Chinese student in his class. Jiu felt uncomfortable and he was empathy about the professor's feeling. He dare not to justify because his explanation would only made his situation even worse. Finding the common interests is a good way to eliminate the misunderstanding. For, Jiu he could prove himself, as a Chinese, can do whatever others can do as well. There is an example of my friend who overcome it.
    His roommate used to think that white people have the advantage to get high education, and for colored people, it will be a hard thing. After my friend talked with his roommate and shared a lot of stories about himself. At that time, they found out that both of them were super fans of  Star War.
