• Smaller grassroots groups (income under £250,000).

• Groups that specialise in delivering services for people from marginalised groups or those led by or incorporating lived experience.

Hart, Rushmoor, and Basingstoke & Deane Councils are hosting an Armed Forces Covenant Conference event to bring together those who support the Armed Forces Community in North-East Hampshire, to promote collaboration, and strengthen our covenant commitments. Organisations in our area which support armed forces, forces families, or veterans are invited to have a stand at the conference to promote and share awareness. Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire & Rescue Service are inviting residents to share their views on how climate change is already affecting their Service, including flooding, wildfires and extreme weather. They are keen to hear from as wide a range of individuals as possible.  If you're interested, simply join their new Residents Engagement Panel, where every quarter you'll be sent a short five question survey about a different topic. The current survey focusing on flooding and wildfires, is open until 27 March.

What is the givestar Adventure for Good Grant? givestar’s Adventure for Good Grant first launched in 2023 and has so far supported over 60 individuals to raise over £1.6million collectively for their chosen charities via incredible challenges. The grant is for individuals who are taking on game-changing challenges for charity, the kind of bold adventures that push limits and turn heads, like reaching summits, navigating wild terrain, or tackling insane endurance feats. What do Variety Great Days Out offer?

• Each year, the charity takes thousands of children to one of their themed parties, the seaside, the circus, the theatre, the zoo, a theme park or other attractions around the UK.

• All events are accessible and can cater to the needs of your group.

• Great Days Out can accommodate group sizes ranging from 10 to 1000 children, depending on the location and access needs.

• Variety Great Days Out are open to schools and non-profit organisations all over the UK that work with disabled and disadvantaged children and young people aged 18 and under. Whether you’re a SEN school or unit, PRU, mainstream school, youth club or community group there is something for you.

Who is The Bereavement Journey for?

It's for people who feel they may not have come to terms with their loss. The course is suitable for anyone with or without a Christian faith.

What does The Bereavement Journey cover?

Over 8 sessions, it covers:

• Attachment, separation and loss

• The impact and pain of bereavement

• Anger and guilt

• Coping with others’ reactions

• Adjusting to change

• Delayed and suppressed grief

• Moving forward healthily

Each evening begins with two films, each followed by an opportunity for discussion in a small group, with a break between.

Attendance is not advisable for those who have been bereaved within the past three months.

The aim is to encourage participation in river-based activities, improve access to waterways, and inspire education and skills development linked to the water sector.

What kind of projects could be supported?

• Recreational Participation: Initiatives that promote activities such as swimming, paddle sports, or angling.

  Projects could also include community-led water quality monitoring to ensure safe and enjoyable experiences.

• Community Access and Engagement: Programmes that improve physical or social access to rivers, such as river festivals, guided walks, or cultural events that celebrate the importance of waterways.

• Education, Insight and Skills: Activities that build knowledge and technical skills, including school STEM programmes, river surveying and monitoring, or training in river restoration design and planning.

The closing date to apply is 13 March. You will need to register with Action Funder to share your project idea.

All participants must:

• Live, work or be registered with a GP in Hampshire

• Be either an adult or a child aged 12+

RHL's new ‘smokefree’ project offers general information, alongside the option to be referred to Hampshire County Council’s fully funded FREE stop smoking programme where you can access support and a variety of free stop smoking aids – please note that there’s no obligation to go ahead with a referral if you attend any of our events or if you talk to our staff…. There will be no judgement, no pressure, just support if you’d like it!

Over the next couple of months RHL will be running several short group drop-in information sessions  – expect these to last no more than 15 minutes. Alternatively, if you prefer, you can have a 1-to-1 chat with one of the RHL staff. Following these sessions, RHL can make a referral on your behalf if you feel that this is the right course of action for you.

There are very serious health concerns associated with smoking. Although it’s not easy, the benefits of quitting are massive and start to take effect surprisingly quickly. Evidence shows that you are three times as likely to successfully quit with the offered support.  Whether you (or a friend/family member) are at the point of wanting to quit, or you simply want to find out more then please contact classes@rhl.org.uk to find out more.

This is a reminder that we can offer unpaid carers who live in Hart District free membership for a year to Hart’s Community Garden worth £80 (Please note that the number of free membership places available is limited).

This is offer is open to carers of adults or parent carers. For parent carers we can offer a Junior Membership of £40 per year if they would like their young person to join too.

Carers often need support themselves and 87% of unpaid carers report a negative impact on their mental health as a result of their caring role.

Hart’s Community Garden members enjoy:

• Free group gardening sessions during the week (Mondays to Thursdays)

• A free pair of gardening gloves (for you to keep)

• Use of all tools, equipment and a share of produce

• Exclusive social events (twice a year)

• Start-up grants: These are for groups who have little or no money when they are first set up and are available to groups in their first year of existence. The grant will enable them to begin practical work and will cover administrative expenses, e.g. insurance fees, postage, publicity or hire of meeting rooms. The maximum grant will be £200.

• Support grants: These are for groups who have little or no money for tools, equipment and training. This grant is available to all groups, regardless of how long they have been constituted. The maximum grant will be £500.
