Hey! I'm Holly and I'm on the MA in Social Anthropology. Here are two "facts" about me... 

1. I have been training in Judo since I was 12. I have been concussed twice throughout my training. I currently part-time teach Judo at a centre in Earlsfield. 

1)     Whilst surfing in NZ I was pulled out in a rip-tide and had to be rescued by the coast guard 

Hi everyone! I am Nandita, enrolled in MA Social Anthropology. You might see me making funny caricatures of you all in the days ahead during classes. Few people on earth find my presence to be very bardo like. I did my Bachelors in Architecture. After which I volunteered as a farmer, designer, illustrator, architect, baker, librarian, mason and found they are very much alike. I lived for 5 years in an intentional community of 2500 people from 50 different countries in a part of India where they tend to eat more of the sun than others. I have spent a good part of the last 2 years immersed in documenting the infraordinary of everyday life in this city as a flaneuse. 

1.  A part of those two years was spent as a bathroom enthusiast, trying to understand how thoughtful are we at designing spaces which we call private. These psychogeographic bathroom explorations about private spaces and interviews of people was later printed as zines. On one of many such wanderings on blood (my bike) looking and searching for toilets and bathroom spaces, I met two girls on white horses in a forest, who narrated in Tamenglese (Tamil +English + Japanese) , the perks of being Japajewish-Jewpanese twins in the city of dawn and their story made me so happy that I wrote it as a nominee for the Happiness exhibition and now that story adorns the walls of the Happiness Museum in Denmark as toilet paper wisdom, along with the adhoc love coins that these girls left me with as a memento to remember them by.

2. I had always felt very divorced from how we tend to pile up people as books leaving them unread after crossing them, meeting them or befriending them on streets not so typically piled up with other unread/half-read people. Being a devout lexophile and introverted stranger enthusiast, I coined a word for this feeling inspired by the Japanese word ‘tsundoku’. And since anthropologists study people , they tend to refrain from peopiling (a compound word of people and piling) in everyday life which makes them understand why people behave and live in ways different from their own. So last year I volunteered at the pilot event of The Human Library in an experimental city (famously known as the living laboratory) by being a human book on loan to readers and then later as a librarian of a library of alive books.
