That is what Laura said when she got it when swimming in the river water. Laura and Mason will investigate to know what caused that gangrene on her shoulder. One quote that shows they are investigating is “What got yo Laura, Mason screamed at me, well all I felt was a little pinch that was all, Pg(89).
The reason that this fits in with the story is that I thought that Mason was worried for Laura because he kinda felt bad for her getting by something in the water and it was also his idea to go swimming too, and that's another reason why I think he feels bad for Laura.
Another quote from the Gangrene from what would be “Why does it hurt now Mason and it's all green too!,(pg 97)”. This quote fits with this chapter because it deals with what happened after she got bit by something and the aftermath of what happened.
This shows how nothing could hurt at first, but hurt at the end, and sometimes it could be deadly.
