Most of their protests were peaceful, as it was usually the most effective. The protests showed how they felt in a calm way that did not cause any harm. Eventually, the protests allowed them to successfully make racial discrimination illegal, but some people still treat certain people in certain ways depending on their skin color. I also didn't know that there were protests done by them. Apparently, there were already lots of riots done by them to fight for the equality of the LGBTQ community. People still have protests for the community and are working hard on gaining much more rights.
