Support<br>As an elementary school aged child, a world war must be confusing and intriguing at the same time. For the white children, it's like a recess game they get to play around with. For the persecuted youth, its a haunting reminder that they will never be accepted because of their ethnic background.</div>]]></description>

Quote<br>"The Panama Hotel, a featured land-mark in Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet, still stands in Seattle’s International District and although Henry and Keiko are fictional characters, their story of separation due to cultural differences was real in 1942 and is the reality of many children in our country today."<br>C. Support<br>Realistic Fiction is such a strong genre because of the fact that it could seriously happen. Most American citizens are aware of WWI and the oppression that Chinese people faced. The setting being one of these real places makes the story that much more and enhances the plot exponentially.</div>]]></description>

A masterful author can also imbue the location with deeper meaning – a sense of place. This sense of place is something greater than the combination of locational descriptors; it is an ambiance conjured up by nuanced writing that captures the aura, the abstract and real components of a place in a special way that allows the reader to feel, smell, and even touch the setting - a sum that is greater than the parts."<br>C. Support<br>The complex city design is seen in comparison to the other dimension that this quote is talking about. Intertwining roads and alleys in the setting of the novel in the city shows the place of deeper meaning. Using the senses of the reader in the text really applies the realistic feeling.</div>]]></description>
