That is probably the reason why I immediately knew that I want to go abroad when we got told about an exchange semester.
I had a few ideas  in my mind about potential destinations. When I checked the countries I was interested in, Finland became one of my TOP 3. Since the nature is very beautiful and I've never ever been to a scandinavian country, I was sure that coming to Finland would be a good decision. First, I wanted to go to Lapland, but one thing leads to another and I applied in Kouvola. I am pretty happy to have the opportunity to study abroad and gain experiences at XAMK.
Since Finland is very popular for their education system, it is a pleasure to participate on lectures over here. I have seen some differences already: 
My schedule is very empty, but still I do have more work to do than in Germany. The reason is that we have all those group works. I do have seven lectures and in five of them, it is normal to have lots of projects/presentations/tasks.

Another difference is obviously the fact that we talk to our tutors by their first name. It is very nice, I do really like it, because it is more personally.
The classes in Finland are smaller than in our university back home, which is also good to experience.
The food in the cafeteria is awesome, very delicious. In addition to that it is very cheap and healthy. :-))

Since I am living in a student accomodation, you meet a lot of other students, primarily exchange students. We are living almost in a forest and it is 30 minutes walking to the city center and it takes about 1 hours to walk to university. 
That is actually why me (and the other students) bought a bike to reach the university in 25 minutes. I am still wondering why we are living that far away from uni.

I share my apartment in the student accomodation with another girl. We experienced that there was nothing in our flat when we arrived. We needed to buy everything,
