Travel Motivators

Travelling to Iceland is an experience like no other. You can take an excursion to some of Iceland's beautiful scenic landscapes or visit exquisite churches and cathedrals in the city center. Physical motivators are visiting Iceland's hot springs and geysers. Prestige motivators are climbing volcanoes and glaciers formed thousands of years ago.

Travel Barriers

Travelling to Iceland is a worldly experience, but there are some things that may prevent you from having the experience you are looking for. Expensive accommodations and transportation can affect how long you stay in Iceland and how many activities. Also there is a language barrier in some of the more rural areas.

Type of Destination

Iceland is a frontier type of destination. The many mountains and glaciers make it this way because it is very isolated and has harsh conditions.

Conservation of the environment is a high priority for Iceland, a country that depends on natural resources and their sustainable management. Given the economy's high dependence on fisheries and exports of seafood, the sustainable harvesting of living marine resources is an economic as well as an environmental priority. A quota system in fisheries, limiting the total allowable catch at a level deemed sustainable by marine scientists, is showing signs of paying off. The stakeholders in this article are the fisheries because they control the entire market so they are most effected by the quota system. I believe that this is the right thing to do because the government needs to preserve the natural resources that benefit the Icelandic economy.
