A news-report is an article which documents a real-life event. It may not use many words, but it can display a lot of information. Ever watched one of those boring news-channels with your parents with the monotone voices and serious discussions which lulled you to sleep? You're in luck -- that's a news report!

Wait, you want to write one yourself? Hmm. Well, a news report usually contains about 4 paragraphs. They always consist of facts -- no opinions here! An authentic news-report seems valid because they use only fact. They're always informational, and you don't really see jokes being passed around in one. A news-report can seem trustworthy by the way it plays its words: they're straightforward, and their modality is always definite.

First up, we have the headline! The headline should always be catchy. A big, bold, catchy headline is more likely to draw attention, and spark curiosity. Keeping it short and concise is always best. An important thing to remember is the headline should stay relevant to the report itself.

Next up, you have the byline. A byline is important, as it gives credit to the author. When you're writing your own news report, it will have your own name!

A placeline is then placed. This is where the report was written.

Now, the first paragraph is simple. All you have to do, is write who, where, and what the event was! Using one to two sentences is key.

In the second paragraph, you'll explain why and how the report happened. Try to keep everything going chronologically. If you were writing a report on the dinosaur's ultimate demise, this is probably where the meteor would make it's epic debut.

In the third paragraph, you have to include at least one quotation from someone who was included or interviewed for this event.

In the fourth, you'll include any other information the reader may inquire about. This is also where you'll be wrapping everything up.

Don't forget about a picture though! Writing may tell the reader what happened, but pictures help the reader to envision the ordeal for themselves.

How to write a news-report? Well, if you have seen your parents watching a channel with MANY headlines and people who talk with 0 enthusiasm about a real-life event well then congratulations! you have watched the news. Except that's on the TV, writing it has a wayy different style. Here's another easier example, ever seen those sheets drop down at your doorstep by a guy or female on the bicycle? Those are news-reports in writings which have been printed! People take there time with their grammar and specific words they need to use to explain the real-life event. Such as..what words would you say for an Airplane Crash? I'd say maybe some key words; deadly, crashed, people. Those are some words that can be said differently as well but have the same meaning.

A news report mostly has 4 paragraphs with context. They don't include your own opinions since well, your opinion could be wrong, so I suggest using facts and realistic speakings. Your first paragraph should be about an expressive and more open headline detail, as I say that DO NOT forget who's writing the news report and what the headline is, also don't even think about forgetting the place an date and where the real-life event took place.

The other paragraph should be about the event, but in much more detail with valid points, remember; it must be chronological (meaning the sequence must be correct.) and maybe to make it even better add some witnesses speakings about the event and how they witnessed it.

The last paragraph is about how you conclude the news-report.

First I would tell them to make sure that the news report is factual and not biased or opinion based in any way. Then I would to make sure to give a lot of information on a concise and short way. Then I would explain them about the headline, byline, date and day, opening paragraph, the event in detail and the conclusion. These are called the 4wh also know as who, why, what, when and how.
