In terms 1 sports.

In term 1, I have achieved many things in sports such as joining the netball squad and improving my skills, joining the football squad + playing football for the first time and learning a few more skills in basketball from breaks and lunches. Adding to that the morning trainings have helped me a lot as it gave me that extra practice every week, it also improved my communication and teamwork skills as we also played with the year 8’s and 9’s. Finally the squads that I would like to join in the next 2 terms are Basketball, Rounders, Cross Country and Gymnastics (if there is a gymnastics squad).

New experiences.

In WIS I have had many new experiences through term 1 so far. Some of wich include new lessons and some of wich include opportunities in sports. Starting with new lessons, it was my first time doing elective subjects which are FT, DT & CT ( food tech, design tech and computational thinking ) but I enjoyed them a lot, I also improved in my cooking skills, workshop skills and coding skills due to these 3 lessons. It was also my first time doing CS (computer science). In that lesson I learned about computer safety and tips about computers that I didn’t know. In sports, we had the opportunity to join the netball, football and swim squads. If you weren’t accepted you would also have the opportunity to go to morning training which is open for anyone whether they are in the squad or not. We also get to participate in sports day which I am very excited about.

My Values/ Be amazing

My values are kindness, empathy , communication, leadership and confidence. I think these values are the most useful because without kindness and empathy no one will really want to be your friend or talk to you, without communication and leadership you won’t be the best person to be in a group project with or any group task and without confidence you wont be able to learn properly because your not confident to ask the teacher or your peers if you need any help wich will not give you the best understanding of what your learning. Other than that in tutor time every month we do something called “Be Amazing” where you write your best achievement for that month and show a picture.

Class Charts & Behavior

In the start of the year, I wasn’t getting a lot of class charts per day or week. So I started asking my teachers for more positives if I had done good in lessons. That gave me a lot more class charts when I asked and now I have a total of 45 positives from term 1. As for the negatives, I would get one every now and then but try my best not to. I mostly have a great attitude to learning which helps get me more class charts and less negatives. My goal for term 1 is to try and get 9 class charts in 1 week and no negatives, my goal for term 2 is to get 12 class charts in 1 week and no negatives and my goal for term 3 is to get 15 class charts in 1 week with no negatives. Adding to that by the end of the year I want to have at least 185 positives or more. The most classes I have gotten class charts in is Arabic, Science, Islamic and Tutor time. In term 1, the most class charts I have gotten in 1 week is 6 and I am hoping that I would at least get 3 more to reach my goal for term 1

Subjects

Maths:

In maths I have had 2 assessment so far: 1 that was a mini quiz which I didn’t get the best score in and the other one I got 28 in. I have had many challenges so far, but by asking and contributing I have improved a lot.

English:

In English we read the girl made of ink and stars wich was a very nice book that taught lots of lessons. Other than that in the start I didn’t really understand the book which made it harder for me to do the tasks as they were related to the book. But as i read the book in my own time I understood it more and improved.

History:

In history, we learned about the Tollund man, the Roman’s, Julius Caesar and much more which was very interesting. We did lots of fun and interesting tasks wich improved my learning. We also did a lot of group activities which was fun.

Science:

In science we did lots of practicals and group activities which were very fun and interesting. My favorite 3 practicals was the chicken wing dissection, chromatography and evaporation. We did 1 test in science wich I didn’t get the results back for yet but I hope I get a good score as I studied for that test a lot.

Geography:

In geography this term we did 2 test which I enjoyed doing a lot. 1 was about explaining who we think murdered Chico Mendes and the other was about drawing an island map with coordinates, OS symbols and a story of the journey. In the first test I got an S+ and in the second I got an S.

Languages:

On languages I do French and Spanish. I already knew a bit of French so it wasn’t hard but I started Spanish this year. Spanish was hard in the start but as the year progressed it became easier because Spanish has a lot of French words and words that sound like English to.
