In the article "CDC Confirms 33 Deaths and 1500 Illnesses linked to vaping", it states that "Cases have now been reported in 49 states, as well as D.C. and the U.S. Virgin Islands. The
latest figures represent an increase in illnesses of nearly 200 since last week, when the
number of illnesses connected to vaping was 1,299 and the number of deaths was 26." This shows that vaping and e-cigarettes have been a major factor in lung injuries and lung problems. Vaping was created as a way to stop people from being addicted to smoking, but in reality it creates so much more problems. This is shown in the article "He Tried E-Cigarettes to Quit Smoking. Doctors Say Vaping Led to his Death", which is about a man who tried using vapes to quit smoking, but the vaping is what ended up killing him. Vaping is not a better alternative to smoking and these products should be discontinued.

In the article, "He Tried E-Cigarettes to Quit Smoking. Doctors Say Vaping Led to his Death" it talks about a man who smoked cigarettes and later switched to E-cigs. The E-Cigarettes (vapes) actually led to his death and doctors are researching it. Most people thought that vaping was better for you than smoking, but this shows that they could be equally as bad. The article states, "Only one thing helped Mr Steffan ditch smoking for good: and e-cigarette." (Bosman 3). This quote shows how this man decided to quit smoking for his health. Quitting smoking was made possible for him when he found e-cigarettes. The article also talks about whether or not Mr Steffan would've died if he didn't pick up vapin. In the end, vaping and smoking are both really bad for your body and you shouldn't ever do either of them. Being healthy should be a priority and that cannot happen if you use e-cigs or cigarettes because they both harm your body very much.

Vaping is currently a large problem in our community, affecting the many people addicted to it. The article "CDC Confirms 33 Deaths and 1500 Illnesses Linked to Vaping" backs this claim when it states, "The number of vaping-related lung injury cases has risen to 1,479 and the number of deaths linked to the use of e-cigarettes has climbed to 33..." People originally believed that vaping is 'better' and 'safer' than smoking, but after all the research that's being done, it no longer seems that way. People who do not know the risks of vaping are just allowing others of all ages to get addicted to it, which can only hurt them in the future. On a similar note, the article "He Tried E-Cigarettes to Quit Smoking. Doctors Say Vaping Lead to his Death" discusses a man who smoked cigarettes, later switching to E-cigs (which are vapes), that ended up leading to his death. If there had been someone or something to stop this innocent man from ever touching the vape, he may still be alive today. He may have smoked in the past, but vaping is what ultimately killed him. It is time something should be done about it. Recently, Michigan banned vaping within the state. It may not be much, but it is a small step that can lead up to a big reward; stopping people from vaping. In conclusion, vaping and/or smoking is very harmful to the body, and laws should be created to ban it from citizens.

Doctors Say Vaping Led to His Death," there is a man who suffered from respiratory failure from cigarettes, or that's what they thought. It turns out that his death was caused by e-cigarettes when he started vaping instead of smoking. Nicotine in the vapes cause it to be addicting and a Nebraskan person said, "I love it and don't want to quit." This is proof that we should not smoke or vape because it will lead to our death. The CDC says that nearly 1300 people have become ill after vaping, and doctors are still unsure what i the cause of injuries caused by vaping. Smoking and vaping are both harmful and can cause serious damage.

In the article, " He Tried E-Cigs to Quit smoking. A man died at 68 from lung failure by smoking .But I think and the doctors think the e-cigs led to his death. In the article it states," Then she got an unexpected call from a doctor at Nebraska’s health department. The
department was investigating her husband’s death and would come to conclude that he had
actually died of a vaping-related illness." So he died from lung failure from vapes not cigarettes because they did a test. Also E- cigs according to everyone helps stop smoking so that's why he started and then got addicted to e-cigs and died from it. Both of them are terrible for you so you shouldn't start before you get sucked into the trap and could die.

In the article ¨He Tried E-Cigarettes to Quit Smoking. Doctors Say Vaping Led to His Death¨ by the New York Times, and ¨Vaping Teens Become a New Generation of Nicotine Addicts¨ by USA Today, they talk about how different generations are being affected by vaping in different ways. The New York Times article talks about how it is affecting the older generation, who grew up in a time where everyone smoked. He ended up dying, and scientists say that it was at the fault of the vaping. It states in the article, "Nebraska had for the first time identified a resident's death related to vaping; a man in his 60s who had died in Douglas County in May." This shows how it really had not been the fault of the cigarettes, despite how long he had been smoking. He had only been vaping for 5 years, and it caused his death. In the USA Today article, it states, "For young people, whose brains are not yet fully developed, it can be particularly dangerous, leading to reduced impulse control, deficits in attention and cognition, and mood disorders." This shows how it can especially affect younger people in very important ways. The process is essentially causing problems in the brain that would not happen otherwise. Overall, vaping is a serious problem, and it is one that is affecting people of all ages, so it needs to be stopped in its tracks.

Vaping is extremely dangerous for your health yet, many people have become addicted to it. They think vaping will help them to stop smoking. Yet in reality, both vaping and smoking are very harmful to your health and do tons of damage. In the article "He Tried E-Cigarettes to Quit Smoking. Doctors Say Vaping Led To His Death", it states "The C.D.C says that nearly 1,300 people have become ill after vaping." This quote explains how serious and harmful the effects of vaping can be. The quote shows how addictive vaping is and how it can ruin lives and relationships. Even though nobody has a way to stop everyone from vaping we should avoid it and tell others that it is harmful also. It causes irreversible damage and can change your life for the worse. In the article "CDC Confirms 33 Deaths and 1,500 Illnesses Linked to Vaping", it says "The latest figures represent an increase in illnesses of nearly 200 since last week. When the number of illnesses connected to vaping was 1,299 and the number of deaths was 26." This quote shows how when you vape you have a very high chance of dieing or getting sick due to vaping. These statistics prove that it's harmful to vape. Even though it's advertised as a product that could help you quit smoking, it's still unsafe and causes major health problems like lung cancer. Nobody should be using vapes as there are no positive effects of vaping.

Vaping is a serious problem in the community because it is dangerous to the human body and it can hurt the people around you. To begin with, the article, "He Tried E-Cigarettes to Quit Smoking. Doctors say Say Vaping Led to His Death," by the New York Times, a man named John Steffen switches to vaping after he finds out that he developed many problems by smoking, like a pulmonary lung disease. He then switches to vaping. The text states "...outbreak of vaping- related illnesses... his death." This shows how John quit smoking and began to vape, and ended up dying from vaping instead. This shows how both smoking and vaping are harmful to the human body, and both can end up being lethal. Also, the text states "Their daughter and one of Mr. Steffen's sons sped to the hospital... wiping away tears." This shows how there are people in the world who care about you. You shouldn't throw away your life and devastate those who love you just so you could smoke or vape. In conclusion, vaping is a serious problem to the community, and should be avoided. People should discourage each other from doing something harmful like vaping, and laws should be made to restrict the use of vaping and save human lives.

In the article "CDC confirms 33 deaths and nearly 1,500 illnesses linked to vaping" by Sarah D. Young of consumeraffairs.com, and the podcast "CDC Studying Tissue To Try And Track Down Root Cause Of Vaping-Related Lung Damage" from NPR News, they discuss the consequences many people are facing for vaping and the issue of not knowing how to avoid it. Both articles said that there were at least 33 deaths and 1,500 injuries caused by vaping already, but the numbers are growing. In "CDC confirms 33 deaths and nearly 1,500 illnesses linked to vaping," Sarah D. Young writes, “‘No one compound or ingredient has emerged as the cause of these illnesses to date; and it may be that there is more than one cause of this outbreak,’ The CDC said." This shows how dangerous vaping is and how fast it is growing because people don't know exactly what the risks are. Without knowing the exact cause, curing the illnesses that vaping afflicts people with is a lot harder. Also, in the podcast, "CDC Studying Tissue To Try And Track Down Root Cause Of Vaping-Related Lung Damage," Dr. Ram Koppaka says, “We don't have that yet. Certainly, if the cause or causes of the lung injury are identified, that would advance that effort a great deal because there might be a way to detect them in the lungs or in the blood or in the tissues or whatever. But we're not there yet.” This tells me yet again that vaping is increasingly dangerous because we have no idea what's causing all of the disease. So, yes, vaping is dangerous, and no, we can't do anything about it beside avoid vaping as a whole.

In the article "He Tried E-Cigarettes to Quit Smoking. Doctors Say Vaping Led to His Death", the story of a man who died from vaping is told. This man, Mr. Steffen, had been smoking cigarettes when he was young. However, he decided to switch to vaping when he realized how bad smoking was. In the text, Dr. Safranek states, "'In his case, it looks to me like he would have been better off sticking with tobacco.'” Everyone knows that cigarettes are really bad for you and that you can get lung cancer from them, but no one really talks about how bad vaping is for you. This doctor is basically saying that even though Mr. Steffen thought it would be better for him to stop smoking cigarettes and instead vape, he probably would have lived longer if he had continued smoking. Vaping is really bad, and it's a big problem in the community, mostly because it's teenagers who are vaping. Though there are other older people, like Mr. Steffen, who vape as a way to get off of tobacco, most of the people who vape are teenagers, who aren't very educated. Though we can't completely solve the problem of vaping, we can help decrease it by making sure to properly educate kids in school about the dangers of vaping and how bad it really it for your body.

Vaping is a dangerous and risky habit that far too many people have become addicted to. The articles, "CDC Confirms 33 Deaths and 1,500 Illnesses Linked to Vaping" and "He tried E-Cigarettes to Quit Smoking, Doctors say Vaping led to his Death", display the effort that scientists and doctors have put forward in order to find out the effects of vaping. ALthough the lethality of vaping is undetermined and still being argued, it's important to keep people away from it, in case it is dangerous. There's a high chance that vaping is harmful, as explained in the article called "CDC Confirms 33 Deaths and 1,500 Illnesses Linked to Vaping". The text states, "A majority of patients (78 percent) said they used the products in the three months before the onset of their symptoms." This statistic is undoubtedly convincing, and supports how vaping has such a powerful effect on people to the point where they become victims to illnesses, or even death. A man's specific story is told from the perspective of his relatives in the second article mentioned. A family member goes into detail at a specific moment after his death when she mentions she "was stunned to see a news bulletin on her computer screen at work
announcing that Nebraska had for the first time identified a resident’s death related to
vaping: a man in his 60s who had died in Douglas County in May." The woman later found out the man was her own husband, and the personal, and heartbreaking story is enough to show how vaping can ruin lives just as much as smoking. Without a doubt, the issue should be called to attention and handled well, so that people will no longer have to suffer from something that can be as dangerous as "a gun with a bullet".

The two articles, Why are Healthy People Dying From Vaping? By Yasemin Saplakoglu and CDC Confirms 33 Deaths and Nearly 1,500 Illnesses Linked to Vaping By Sarah D. Young, both discuss the dangers of vaping and how harmful it is for humans. Vaping is a huge problem in todays community, as many peole are gettig seriously ijured from it, and even dying. CDC Confirms 33 Deaths and Nearly 1,500 Illnesses Linked to Vaping states, "The latest figures represent an increase in illnesses of nearly 200 since last week when the number of illnesses connected to vaping was 1,299 and the number of deaths was 26.” Many people are getting seriously ill and dying, due to smoking e-cigarettes. And, even though many people are getting sick from vaping, nothing is being done about it. The article, Why are Healthy People Dying From Vaping, states, "...the FDA isn’t actively regulating these devices or requiring labels on products with all the regulations.” Not even the simple act of putting a warning on the lable of the e-cigarette is being done to help the cause of people who may get sick in the futuer. Something must be done to help save more people from dying, or there will just be more and more dead. Vaping is a serious issue in todays world, and if nothing is done abot it, multipul more people will continue to loose their lives.

Vaping is dangerous for your health and unfortunately, many people have become addicted to it thinking that it could help you stop smoking. In reality, both vaping and smoking are very bad for your health. In the article "CDC Confirms 33 Deaths and 1,500 Illnesses Linked to Vaping", it states "The latest figures represent an increase in illnesses of nearly 200 since last week, when the
number of illnesses connected to vaping was 1,299 and the number of deaths was 26." This quote shows how vaping is risky for your health. These statistics prove that it's harmful to vape. Even though it's advertised as a product that could help you quit smoking, it's still unsafe and is related to major health problems like lung cancer. We should avoid it at all costs. In the article "He Tried E-Cigarettes to Quit Smoking. Doctors Say Vaping Led To His Death", it states "The C.D.C says that nearly 1,300 people have become ill after vaping." This quote shows how serious the effects of vaping can be. The quote supports how addictive vaping is and how it can ruin lives. Even though we don't have a solution to this growing problem, we should try and stay away from vaping. It does irreversible damage and can change your life for the worse.

Cigarettes are very bad for you, but they are also very addictive. So, people have come up with vaping. But studies have shown that vaping is bad for your health, can be fatal, and just like cigarettes, they are addictive. These articles,"He tried E-Cigarettes to Quit Smoking, Doctors say Vaping led to his Death" and "CDC Confirms 33 Deaths and 1,500 Illnesses Linked to Vaping" prove the point stated above. These articles also show us how doctors and scientists are trying to figure out the negative effects of vaping. Vaping is a problem in this community, because in "He tried E-Cigarettes to Quit Smoking, Doctors say Vaping led to his Death", doctors and researchers are proposing that vaping led to a man's death. Also, in "CDC Confirms 33 Deaths and 1,500 Illnesses Linked to Vaping", health officials are stating that vaping is killing many people, and causing many people to contract sicknesses. Something should be done about vaping and the problems that it brings because if nothing is done, many people who are addicted to cigarettes and other people who have started smoking will switch to vaping, which could prove to be fatal for them in the long run. One thing that the society can do to fix the problem of vaping would be to eliminate the harmful material in the E-Cigarette that damages the lung, which according to "CDC Confirms 33 Deaths and 1,500 Illnesses Linked to Vaping" may be THC, or tetrahydrocannabinol. So all in all, vaping is a dangerous fatal product that people should avoid at all times. Vaping is a growing problem in the community, and it should be stopped, or else vaping will continue it's life ending rampage that had plagued society for long enough.

E-cigarettes and vapes were invented by a Chinese man names Hon Lik, intended to help provide a more healthy alternative to smoking and to help smoking addicts get their nicotine in a more healthy way. Unfortunately, this massively backfired, causing people who never smoked and who wouldn't have gotten a nicotine addiction otherwise have gotten one by trying vaping. In addition, vapes aren't made to be that much safer than smoking, and still contain many dangerous chemicals and are linked to multiple diseases. This is shown in the article "He Tried E-Cigarettes to Quit Smoking. Doctors Say Vaping Led to His Death." it states: "Nebraska had for the first time identified a resident’s death related to
vaping: a man in his 60s who had died in Douglas County in May." This shows how vaping doesn't work as intended, as the whole point was to prevent people from dying due to something with nicotine that you inhale. However, that very thing that vaping was trying to defeat is what it, and E-cigarettes as well, have now become. In the article: "Why Are Healthy People Dying From Vaping?" it states that one of some of the problems that come with vaping include these: "For most patients, that means shortness of breath, cough, chest pain and sometimes even nausea, vomiting, fever and weight loss. But for others, the condition, now being called 'e-cigarette or vaping product use associated lung injury,' or EVALI, can develop to become life-threatening." It isn't good that vaping has been associated with all of these symptoms, including death, but it is even worse that it has more negative symptoms than cigarettes, which are what vaping is trying to replace! Some of these shared symptoms include shortness of breath, coughing, chest pain, and death due to illnesses of the lungs. So, vaping is a serious problem in our society today, and is not something that can just be ignored. Just because it might come in "fun flavors" and that it doesn't release smoke doesn't make it any less of an issue than cigarettes, and we need to come up with a solution to either get rid of them, or make sure that they are made with safer ingredients.

Vapes and e-cigarettes are part of a new wave of silent killers that are sweeping across the nation. Intended to be an easy way to quit smoking, vapes have succeeded in their goal for the most part. On the other hand, the victims of tobacco have now become hooked onto these new devices, which may be as fatal as your traditional cancer stick. In the articles "Why Are Healthy People Dying From Vaping?" and "He Tried E-Cigarettes to Quit Smoking. Doctors Say Vaping Led to His Death", healthy people have fallen victim to this modern epidemic, and have unfortunately died as a consequence. When we see people perish as a result of vaping, this should signal to us that something about vaping is dangerous and fatal. As researchers bring before our eyes the horrifying results of using e-cigarettes, they reveal to us that one of the harmful ingredients in some e-cigarettes is the oil vitamin E acetate. The article "Why Are Healthy People Dying From Vaping" states "The oil essentially coats the lungs, which aren't 'designed to handle oil,' Siegel said. The air sacs in the lungs get covered in oil and can't exchange oxygen. As the lungs try to get rid of the oil, they become severely inflamed, and it becomes even more difficult to exchange oxygen. 'The lungs cannot work properly, and the patient may experience respiratory failure...'" The oli coats the lungs of the vaper when it is inhaled. Since it's a foreign chemical, the human body tries to eliminate the substance. This inflames the air sacs, resulting in a struggle to breathe for the vaper. Consequently, this leads to lung failure, and a slow and painful death. So in the long run, the oils found in e-cigarettes are a huge hazard to the vaper's health, no matter what the age of the vaper is. In addition, the chemicals in the vape are also harmful to the lungs. The same article reveals "...the cells lining the walls of patients' lungs were often so damaged that they fell off..." The loss of lung cells due to the chemicals could lead to multiple lung infections, all with a high mortality rate. However, the exact ingredient that is causing the deaths and illnesses is not exactly known, but it is still very harmful. The article "He Tried E-Cigarettes to Quit Smoking. Doctors Say Vaping Led to His Death" states "...whether it is the
liquid being vaped, a material in vaping devices themselves, or something else. The C.D.C. says that nearly 1,300 people have become ill after vaping." The high numbers of illnesses and deaths related to vaping may come across as a shock to some, but we should focus on finding a solution for this plague. Thus, we can see that vaping is a serious problem that needs an immediate solution. The fatal side effects of this epidemic should be a red flag for us to realize the potential danger of vaping. There are many ways to stop vaping, but we all need to work together to make this world safer and healthier before it's too late.

Vaping is a huge problem in our community, and we need to do anything we can to stop people from vaping. Vaping is very injurious to our health and can cause lots of diseases or even death. In the article, "Why Are Healthy People Dying From Vaping?" it talks about the rate of disease and death after vaping. It also explains to reasons that these issues are happening. In the text, it states, "The mysterious vaping outbreak in the U.S. has led to nearly 1,300 lung injuries and 26 death as of last week, including deaths among young, seemingly healthy people." This shows how vaping cause many health problems, despite being healthy. This can cause someone to have long-term injuries or even lose their life. To keep our community safe, we should take precautionary measures to prevent anyone else to have major, future health problems. Many people also think vaping is a better alternative to smoking cigarettes. In the article, "He Tries E-Cigarettes to Quit Smoking. Doctors Say Vaping Led to His Death," it states, "The C.D.C.
says that nearly 1,300 people have become ill after vaping." The guy talked about in this article picked up vaping to quit cigarettes. The article shows how many people became ill after vaping, proving vaping is just as bad as smoking. Vaping needs to be stopped. We should change people's mindset that vaping is not as bad because it is wrong. Everyone should steer away from vaping because it can greatly affect your health and your life in a very negative way.

The article "CDC confirms 33 deaths and nearly 1.500 illnesses linked to vaping" by Sarah D. Young shows the downsides of vaping/e-cigarettes from a statistical standpoint. We've all heard the "Vaping is bad and it causes fatal diseases." idea, but most articles just list the drawbacks. According to the article, "The number of vaping-related lung injury cases has risen to 1,479 and the number of deaths linked to the use of e-cigarettes has climbed to 33..." (Young 1) Just the idea that this one product has killed over 30 people really alarms you and makes you realize how truly terrible e-cigarettes are. Three pages of scientists saying that vaping will kill you isn't going to convince. We live in a world where we need evidence and facts to believe anything anymore. The article also explains that nearly 80% of all patients with certain fatal respiratory infections and cancers admitted to using vape pens/e-cigarettes in prior months. To conclude, seeing the statistical evidence of the horrible dangers vaping creates seems to be the only thing that's working to get people's attention nowadays.

Currently, vaping is an ongoing problem in our community. It seems to be seriously threatening to people’s health. The article, “He Tried E-Cigarettes to Quit Smoking. Doctors Say Vaping Led to his Death,” shares the story of a man, John Steffen, who switched from cigarettes to e-cigarettes. Steffen died at 68 from a lung disease, and doctors are unsure whether his death was caused by vaping or cigarettes. Based off of the information given in the article, doctors believe that cigarettes caused his death. However, the vaping added to his problems. The article demonstrated that vaping can be just as bad as cigarettes as a result of diagnosed lung diseases. The article, “Why Are Healthy People Dying from Vaping?”, explains that there have been 26 deaths from vaping. It talks about the repercussions on your health from vaping. According to the article, “Why Are Healthy People Dying from Vaping?” by Yasemin Saplakoglu, it states, “The oldest person to have died of EVALI [an e-cigarette or vaping product use-associated lung injury.] was 75 years of age, and the youngest a 17-year-old from the Bronx.” (Saplakoglu, Paragraph 13) This just goes to show that anyone vaping is at risk, regardless of your age or state of health. John Steffen was a thriving man up until the year when he started vaping after smoking, which exacerbated his health conditions. The same article also writes, “ ‘We don't know yet whether these acute cases of respiratory failure will lead to irreversible damage or whether the patients will eventually return to normal lung function,’ Siegel said.” (Saplakoglu, Paragraph 15) Because doctors are unsure whether you can recover from a minor respiratory failure, it is better not to smoke or vape, rather than taking a chance at risking your life. Once you start vaping or smoking cigarettes, you can easily be roped in, and they can impact your life in a very negative way.

I feel that something should be done about vaping. There should be more advertisements advising people to avoid vaping in and out of school. There has recently been an increase in teens vaping, mainly because of peer pressure. Vaping and smoking is very dangerous and you should stay away from them.

In the article How Does Vaping cause Death, it talks about how vaping can be dangerous to the human body and system. Vaping causes damage and can harm a healthy set of lungs. In the book the Outsiders, multiple times, it is brought up by Ponyboy how he needs his "weed". It seems like he needs it in order to be sane, and without it, he seems to not be able to function normally. This could be an issue because the nicotine in the vapes can be very addicting which causes an effect like it did on many of the characters in the Outsiders. In the text, it talks about how the oils in a vape coats the lungs which causes serious damage to the lungs. This is another reason why vaping can be very harmful. Additionally, it also says, "The mysterious vaping outbreak in the U.S. has led to nearly 1,300 lung injuries and 26 deaths as of last week, including deaths among young, seemingly healthy people." In one week, vaping managed to take the lives of 26 people and harm 1,300 people who originally had healthy lungs. I think that in a way, this is unfair because people with lung diseases or cancer dream of healthy lungs while people who have healthy lungs are taking them for granted, not realizing the cost. Vaping can ruin a perfectly healthy set of lungs very quickly. I think that this can be avoided. I think that the prices of vapes should go up. This way, the vaping companies don't lose their jobs, and it can decrease the number of people being hurt. In conclusion, I think that vaping has had a very negative affect on our community and this should and could be changed

The department was investigating her husband’s death and would come to conclude that he had actually died of a vaping-related illness.” He tried to stop smoking cigarettes because his doctor told him they were harming him. He stopped by doing something worse, which was vaping. His doctor found out after he died that vaping was more dangerous than cigarettes. 33 people have died and 1,500 people are linked to vaping illness. Vaping is worse for you than cigarettes and has negatively affected many people. Also, it says how people don’t know what the exact effects of vaping are but they know it is causing many people to have harmful and sometimes fatal outcomes. I think vaping is bad for people and should not be consumed because of the harmful effects this product has on the human body.
