For example, something as simple as using images in a lesson that include people from all walks of life help to create a safe space where everyone can feel included and heard.

It means teaching through a variety of methods, pictures, videos, song, hands on activities, auditory etc. It means having the resources needed and accessible for those that need assistance like brail, computers, PIC cards , ramps, mobility aids, left handed scissors etc. It means a safe space where everyone feel comfortable to try and make mistakes, where the class feels like a community and everyone has a chance to show their strengths.

  • the term inclusion itself for me sometimes implies that there is an inner group and and outer group, and we are attempting to bring in that 'outer group' whatever that may be
