<title>Ka pai Whaea Steph what a great kōrero. Āe I too have noticed the rough play. Lets center our learning plans and approach to this challenging behaviour with enhancing their mana and acknowledging their tapu and ensuring we are doing both as we plan our approach.</title>

<title>Our tamariki love to play. They are very curious and learn through touching and feeling as well. Did you know our tūpuna knew this and provided activities like we do for our tamariki in the kainga. How about we have some taretare kakahu for your pēpi while she plays and when she is done we change her back.

<title>I have noticed that our kaiako are getting a bit frustrated and I can hear some yelling. I would like to look at some of our kōhanga tikanga to support them and also gently remind us all that our tūpuna never yelled at our tamariki. We know our pēpi are born with mana and tapu and as a team we should be respecting them. I would like support to further kōrero about this with our kaiako</title>

<title>&quot;Tūpuna tāne were nurturing and carer pāpā for their whānāu - early explorers noticed how they were more often seen caring their pepi in a carrier, te pīkau, than māmā, and that they were &#39;excellent nurses&#39;, cleaning, cuddling and singing lullabies for their pepi. The colonial parenting ways introduced the idea of &#39;woman&#39;s work&#39; and that children were to be seen and not heard. That was not our way before.&quot;</title>
