3.Teachers are able to get a google level 1 certification at googlecertifiededucator.com.

1.Things google is making happen in the classroom: collaboration among teachers, multiple teachers can give students feedback (creates co-teachers), students are learning through hyperdocs (digital lesson designs that focus on different modalities of learning ex. text, listening, video, creating, and sharing)
2.Tech is having an impact on the way teachers are teaching and students are learning, such as, hyperdocs digital lesson plans, and google expeditions providing virtual field trips.

1.Google is connecting with professional youtubers (those that kids follow) to create educational content such as educational shows, minecraft field trips, learn a language videos.
2.It has been announced that new chromebooks have been developed with new capabilities such as stylus use, world facing cameras, usbc charging, and the ability to use android apps and adobe creative apps.

1.The announcement of the new Chromebooks and encourage our school to start purchasing them. These will update how students use google classroom for creative outlets. I-Pads may go away!
2.The announcement that google sites has been made over. Many used to use Weebly, but may now prefer google sites because of its new drag and drop features and ability to add docs, slides, sheets, forms and videos. It is now an interactive google page. It is considered a nice entry point to creating your own webpage. It is good for "techniphobe" teachers.... easy to use. Great for designing student projects to be shared, parent portals, explainer videos, e-portfolios, teacher training sites.

1.Tweech Me is an app that was developed to help teachers learn how to use Twitter for professional development. It is an easy way for teachers to learn about Twitter. 
2. The app provides courses and a chat schedule that is connected to google calendar that accurately lists educational chats going on.
3. 20% of twitter chats are connected to education.

1. More than 9 out of 10 parents want their child to know how to code. Demand for the subject is growing.
2. Teachers are being asked to teach elements of coding in their content areas which involves "how we think, and problem solving."
3. Three things suggested to help teachers get started teaching coding.... Be confident and have a growth mindset. Decide what you want to teach your students (coding, computer science, computational thinking). Start with some self guided resources like code.org or codeable.

1. Coding can be taught to elementary and higher grades.  1st graders can code a play that acts out the play. Upper grades can use it in math and science.
2. One good resource is Scratch. A good book to help you get started is Helping Kids with Computer Coding (you can get it from dk.com).

1. Matt Miller and Kasey Bell have started a podcast for educators and by educators to inspire teachers to use google in their classrooms.
2 The idea of Google Teacher Tribe Podcast is for teachers to share what changes are going on with google - updates, share lesson plans, build data base to share learning experiences. They want to provide concrete usable ideas.
3. They will conduct a weekly podcast to include tricks and tips in using google and will interview teachers/educators to share their knowledge and experiences.
