All of these forms have harmful effects on survivors. Resources designed to recognize, prevent, and stop all forms of bullying are the most comprehensive and helpful to ending bullying in schools and beyond.<br><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Non-fiction Book<br><br>Provides an overview of peer pressure, bullying, and the different between the two.  This resource also provides advice on seeking professional help as well as organizations that can help a teenager that is attempting to cope with this challenge/s.  <br><br>The ability to have all of this valuable information in a single resource is extremely useful to a teenager who may be overwhelmed with their stress in relation to bullying and need to find help quickly.  If nothing else - this book provides guidance and would encourage the teenager to reach out to professional help, which would prove to be beneficial long-term.    <br><br>References:<br><br>Tarshis, Thomas P.          <description><![CDATA[<div>Fiction Book<br>Genre: Realistic<br>IL:  6-8<br><br><em>Bully on the Bus</em> by Kathryn Apel is about a middle schooler named Leroy who was bullied on the bus by a high schooler named DJ. Leroy decided to combat his bully by ignoring her, talking with confidence against her, and even sitting near the bus driver while riding the bus. Ultimately, Leroy used a storybook to distract himself from the bully and told his teacher what happened.<br><br>This book is excellent for young adults who encounter bullying on the bus. Toward the end, Leroy's teacher provided him with helpful tools to combat the bully. Her friends figure out a way to stop CJ from bullying others by standing up to CJ directly. This is an excellent book that teaches young adults not to be leaders; even if it means standing up against people once considered friends. According to Dr. Beigel, survivors must develop skills to move on from the experience and must learn how to say yes and no. In addition, knowing what one's strengths and weaknesses are is a good way to build self esteem. As Dr. Beigel put it, "When you have good self esteem, someone can’t bully you."
