First of all, I personally do not agree with the lack of freedom in the teaching method. SEP and UNAM are examples of two predetermined systems tht are very different from one another, but the most common one is SEP, and this is because its considered the most basic program to follow and it isnt as prestigious as UNAM. The professors should definetely be able to teach what is necessary for society to acknowledged about life, this is extremely important because you cant just recieve sistematic information about numbers or past history, every human being should be prepared for the present they are living and eventually for the near future. The disadvantages of this can be many but the worst of all could be that kids and teenagers cant develop skills that are necessary for handling life circunstances, which they dont teach at school. We actually think that what jo is saying its a good point of view, because time's changing and so should our education.
