Later on, we start to see the setting shift to somewhere that seems to be his personal space. Here, he is faced with various hallucinations and the moon, staring at him with eyes as though it is mocking him, mirroring what he is feeling inside. His obsession with the idea of reaching something consumed him alive, and drained him entirely that made him lost all sense of sanity.

The moon somehow has a disturbing face and at some point of the play, it seems as though it’s terrorizing the astronomer and consuming him alive, along with some other objects in his workspace. This symbolizes how even though he enjoys his work, it is eating him alive and draining his energy.
