I learned that there are a number of viewpoints and perspectives to think about when deciding on beliefs. I was paired up with a group of elementary teachers and their perspective was great to hear compared to what I see every day in the high school setting. It was great to hear what we do similarly even though we teach much different age groups.

Today opened my mind to the viewpoints of people in higher grade levels. As a third grade teacher, I am just introducing the concept of abstract learning to my students. They're so concrete and literal in K-2. They're also not used to having open-ended questions. Especially in math. It's interesting to see how higher grade levels are able to get their students to be okay with the "everyone's answer may be different" concept. I think Elementary is so focused on computation when the focus in higher grade levels is application.
