Immigrants came from over Europe. They escaped from extreme poverty, famine, unemployment and religious and racial persecutions. The Statue of Liberty represent the end of their difficult journey and the hope for a new life. The immigrants pass in Ellis Island as a condiotion to enter the United States. The museum offers a very interesting view of the immigrants' experiece. There also a collection of object donated by descendants of the immgrants who brought these treasures from their homes to America. These object include family photos, rare clothing and jewellery.
