She is best known for a collection of novels, poems and short stories, beginning in 1908 with Anne of Green Gables, closely followed by Anne of Avonlea.

AGE AND STAR RATING

I would rate this wonderful book to ages ranging from 10 all the way up to adults.

My star rating would definitely be a FIVE star! This series and book is 100% a page-turner that you just can’t put down.

WHAT IS THE BEST PART?

I really could not choose a best part! Anne of Avonlea is so good in its entirety to pick a best part. It has adventures along with laughter and friendships.

DO YOU HAVE A FAVOURITE CHARACTER?

I love all of the characters from Anne, Marilla and Mrs Lynde to Miss Lavender and Mr. Harrison to name a few.

It all starts when a young teenager, Hester Shaw, who was scouting out for a predator city to stop her small mining town getting “eaten”. The cities are motorised, moving metropolises. Suddenly a dark shape looms over the horizon, it was the one thing that she feared, London! The greatest of all predator cities. Even though she feared it, she still wanted to board it, the reason was, that she wanted to destroy the head historian and engineer, Valentine. For all Hester knew he was a ruthless person who wanted to control the world, but she had no clue that he and his fellow engineers were producing, a weapon that could destroy anything in its path.

If you like action books, set in an dystopian future this might be the one for you.

Mortal Engines is the first book in the Mortal Engines Quartet.

I would give it a 4 star rating.

It is about a girl who likes to sneak into a museum but then realises that a big monster is frozen in ice. She accidentally finds the museum's old scientist in a secret laboratory in the basement. She tells him she wants to unfreeze the monster because she thinks it is alive. She melts the ice around it and it is alive, but it runs away. The story unfolds.

I enjoyed reading it and definitely recommend 8 to 11 year olds read it. It's a bit of a thriller. Sometimes you are happy reading it, and sometimes sad. It can be shocking and also very funny.

Every day after school he would try to find a tin can and would kick it all the way home. His brother would go to the park every day with Ronaldo and play football. Ronaldo had a friend called Nani, him and Nani were too young to play because their mums thought they would get hurt. So they would kick a flat football around and practice their keepy upys. When Ronaldo was 13 he was in Sporting Lisbon CP Academy when he was 14 he was in the under-16s but that didn't stop him from achieving his goal a few years later he was in the first team. It was the day Ronaldo had been waiting for his debut everything was going great by the end of the match Ronaldo had 1 assist 2 and 2 goals although Sporting lost everyone was happy no one cared though because they got to see Ronaldo on his debut. after a couple of good seasons at Sporting Ronaldo was ready for bigger and better things so Ronaldo joined Manchester United he made new friends called Gigsy, Rio, Scholesy

I liked this book as it made me feel like I was part of the story I had a good picture of what was happening.
.My favourite part was the ending as it described the start of the story from another point of view. It is for older readers as it contains some language that is hard to understand for a younger reader.

I really enjoyed this book because it keeps you on the edge of your seat and entices you to see what happens next, it is also funny and enjoyable. It is written with descriptive language and beautiful illustrations.

But there are some big obstacles in his way. His mum doesn't want him to have anything to do with the game because of what happened to his dad on the pitch. And even if Lewis can persuade her to let him give it a go, there's no way they can afford the kit. A brilliant book with lots of themes to discuss. I really enjoyed reading it and you don't need to be a football fan to enjoy it!

It talks about the different strengths animals have and the amazing life they lead but encourages children to recognise their own strengths, that make each of them INCREDIBLE and unique.

I have loved sharing this book with my own little boy, who is now 7, but love sharing it with my Reception children too, many times throughout the year!

A definite book to have on every child's book shelf and a deserving 10/10 score too! :)

She moves into her uncle's unwelcoming and rather frightening house and is intrigued by his rule preventing her from visiting Dead Man's Cove. Add Tariq- a silent Indian boy who lives with the flamboyant Mukthar family but doesn't really seem to fit in there. Laura encounters further mysteries as the story continues full of twists and turns and she makes new friends including Skye her trusty companion, a three-legged husky, the dog she's always wanted. A great read.

Her name is Miss Gravel and her dog Bandit have been sent to cover Mr Fullerman who is away. Things start disappearing around school and it's up to Tom and Derek to solve the mystery. Will the school play still go on? Will Delia, his annoying sister, stop being annoying? Will Tom save the day? This is another great book about the adventures of Tom Gates and I would give it 10 out of 10.

It is all about the Worrysaurus who is a little dinosaur who likes to have a plan. He likes to know what his day has in store for him but he often thinks about all of the things that could go wrong. One day he decides to plan his perfect day. He plans to go for a walk in the sunshine and have a delicious picnic. It doesn't take long before his day is not going as he planned. Worrysaurus bumps into a lizard who tells him a storm is coming and they both begin to panic. The Worrysaurus starts to feel the 'worry butterfly' take over his tummy until he remembers that he knows how to deal with the 'worry butterfly'. Even though everything didn't go as the Worrysaurus had planned he still ended up having a good day and he made a new friend too.
This is a fabulous story with beautiful illustrations that I really enjoyed reading with the children in my class. I am sure you will enjoy reading this story too. 😊

One night she has a dream and she meets a girls who is her in the future. She doesn't know who she is at first but the new girl looks very familiar. She starts talking about thing Enna doesn't understand yet and asks her to do jobs she doesn't know how to do. The new girl then explains she is a future version of what Enna could be if she wants to be. The new girls then shows Enna a loads of other possibilities that Enna could be if she chose to. The story is amazing as it teaches you that just because you can't do something yet doesn't mean you won't be able to. All you need to do is keep trying.

This is a great story and I give it 10 stars 🌟

It's story completely unravels a new world where you can enjoy wonders and not even close the page. Every sentence links together and every chapter is as exiting as the other. My favourite character is Hermione Granger because she is smart and acts like she knows everything. My least favourite character is Draco Malfoy because he is mean.

A lazy dragon who when an earthquake hid underground and waited. And sooner or later he got bored so he crawled back up and appeared in a cave not knowing what a marvel of an adventure he would go on. A small shepherd's son the age of thirteen, is a bookworm. He has a wide knowledge of fantasy and myth and on the downs where his dragon mysteriously appears, this boy is the only one who dares to go near him. Sooner or later the shepherd's son and the dragon become great friends, not knowing their a greater threats and when people start to get suspicious dangers arrive and only the boy can settle the battle and fight for friendship, kindness and empathy.

This action packed a beautiful novel shows you the brilliant and lovely bond between friendship and everybody matters. It also shows English myth and the wide wonders of the world.

Dug reached his spade down but he couldn’t reach the bottom so then Gertie put her grabber down and got Fixer. It is sad and happy and exciting and the pictures are really exciting.

I give this book 5 stars because it's a fun read and a clever pirate version of the Pied Piper of Hamelin.

He combined the chemicals together so it can make a toxic brew. George gave grandma many teaspoons of the toxic potion which made her very tall and skinny. This all happened when his parents were away.
When they came back they found granny crashing through the roof. They were so shocked.

Matilda practices her special powers and gets revenge on Miss Trunchbull.

I like this book because although Matilda has a tough time at first she makes friends and has a happy ending.

Summer is about to begin and Komi would love to spend the long holiday days hanging out with her new friends but even though she has made great strides in her personal quest, she still has problems communicating. For instance making phone calls is so anxiety provoking that it keeps her up at night. Thankfully, Tadano always seems to know how to help calm her down.

The book is about Daisy’s holiday with her Mum to Spain. The holiday starts off well but the trouble starts when Daisy and her holiday friends find some kittens by the dustbins. Daisy decides to use her holiday money to buy them food and look after them. The book has a very funny ending.

I want to read more of the Daisy books by Kes Gray.

I would give this book 5 stars.

This story also has my favourite picture of all the ninja’s dragons.

This is a brilliant book full of tips and techniques about improving your life. You could be a footballer like Marcus, or absolutely anyone to take on the helpful tips in this book which is absolutely full of positivity. I would really recommend this book to anyone between the ages of 9 and 14 as I enjoyed it a lot.

The composer of the music was called Tchaikovsky. Swan Lake is a fiction story but there are some non fiction pages that tell you all about Tchaikovsky. I like this book because Tchaikovsky’s music is beautiful. There are good characters and bad characters in the story. My favourite character is Princess Odette. She is the most beautiful swan and she is trapped by magic. She turns into a person at night. She turns into a swan in the day. You will like this book if you like music and fairy tales.

It was good. There were a lot of teachers at first but then the monsters kept eating them and they kept disappearing. All of the teachers didn’t know where they were, but at the end they didn’t eat the last one because the last one was Mrs Hunter and she told them off if they tried to eat her! I’ll bring it in tomorrow and I like it!

The animals had to move to a different wood to survive. Luckily, Frog one of the characters, on his adventures had spotted a new wood but they had to cross through towns, fields, farms and lots more to get there. Even though they suffered a few casualties on the way, they still managed to get to their new home, a wildlife reserve, here they wouldn’t be hunted anymore.

I would recommend this book for year 3 and above. It is a fantasy book and is a story about the impact humans are having and the consequences of our actions through the animals eyes.

Divided by conflict and lies and is ruled by Captain Iyla who inflicts hurt across the land. The alknosts have characteristics of both humans and birds and they have a unique capability to be able to sing magic but since Joy (a ship) plummeted to the bottom of the sea it has been banned. Alknost Linnet lives in mourning with her father Nightingale ever since Joy sank: her mother was on the ship. From then on the Captain has blamed the wreckage on alknosts restricting what they can do. If any refuse they get sent to the Keep a building in the Magicless Mountains ruled by watchful Bogatyrs. Meanwhile the humans carry on their lives helpless against Captain Iyla’s plans. This story is about Linnet who has no magic yet but has the power to change the island. Surviving the depression of her father’s capture she unites her friends to go on a voyage to free him. Will they succeed to free her father and return equality to Morovia?
