Steps to Follow:

• Instruct students to introduce themselves by stating their name along with an adjective that begins with the same letter as their name.

• The adjective needs to represent something about their mood, personality or something they aspire to be.

• To make it even more fun, each student will also come up with a simple action or gesture that represents their adjective.

• Demonstrate the activity yourself first by providing an example to the class before beginning the game.

For example:

Stressed Sareh

•

•It is better to give a minute or so to come up with an adjective.

•Depending on the number of students, it can be group work or a whole class activity.

•To make it more interactive, you can ask them if they remember any of their classmates’ names or adjectives.

•Even the person who remembers the most, can be the winner!

Step 1: Set Up the Lines

Divide the class into two equal lines:

•One line will be called Line A, and the other will be Line B.

•Have Line A stand directly across from Line B, so each student is facing a partner.

Step 2: Explain the Rules

The structure is simple: one person starts with a sentence, and the other must reply with "Yes, and..." before adding to the story.

The guideline:

Line A will always start by saying any sentence (e.g. A compliment, random observation, a fact, or even something silly)

Line B will respond with Yes, and… to agree with the first sentence and add something to the story.

The responses can be humorous, imaginitive or thoughtful__ there are no wrong answers!

For example:

Line A: You have the coolest shoes!

Line B: Yes, and they can jump as high as kangaroos!

After both students have spoken, move on to the next pair.

Reflection:

After a few rounds, ask students to share the funniest or the most creative Yes, and… they heard.
