Today's bloodshed is yet another example of the arrogant and deadly tactics the British have used for many years in our colonies. Starting with the French and Indian War, the Stamp Act, the massacre in Boston, and now this. What's next - a new English King in Boston? The events at Lexington only prove that we must united and oppose British rule until our demands are met. Taxation without representation has been the British way - now we must push for change, and we must do this as one. As Patrick Henry proclaimed, "Give me liberty, or give me death." And, as Benjamin Franklin argued, we must join together - or die!
-Paul Revere

Stories of bloodshed are never an answer to problems. Especially problems in colonies, properties of his majesty Great Britain. Those loyal to the Crown, and those opposed, and those neutral of this conflict, here me now - Britain's colonies have always been protected and governed by Parliament. Who thinks it is wise to stand up to his majesty, the greatest military power in the world - and now we are firing muskets at redcoats? Yankees be warned - England is our savior and protector. There are safer and legal ways to work for change. If taxation without representation is your cry, remember - taxation is what keeps our colonies afloat.

British troops under the command of Lieutenant Colonel Francis Smith Howe fired on colonial militia and citizens at Lexington Green today, outside Boston. Reports say that many colonists were unarmed and had massed on Lexington commson in the excitement. Many believed the British were en route to arrest Boston's John Hancock and Samuel Adams, leaders of resistance against British policies. The skirmish left at least seven colonists dead, and many running for their lives.
According to witnesses and sources in the Massachusetts militia, the British troops then headed for Concord to take a militia arsenal of supplies. Colonial minuteman and other colonists lined their route and returned fire at times. Many Brits lay dead or wounded along the road, and colonists ambushed from behind trees and walls, and the cover of their homes.
Concern soon grew to hysteria after the shots were fired by both sides, and Massachusetts militia lay dead on Lexington Green. It is unclear who fired the first shots. "I heard yelling and arguing, and then a small pop and flash and smoke. The next thing I know more pops, and people were running for their lives," said Betty Johnson, a Lexington farmer's wife. "In all my years of putting up with the British, I never thought those lobsters would be so blatantly aggressive. I hope they know what's coming now."
