New years wasn't always on January 1st; people in Mesopotamia c. 2000 B.C. , they celebrated in march during the vernal equinox in mid march where the sun was directly above the equator. When Julius Cesar introduced his calendar he made January 1st new year's day but later the Christian church abolished it, seeing it as anti-christian; they celebrated it on Christmas. When the Gregorian calendar was created January first was brought back as the start of the new year but american colonies didn't adopt the calendar until 1752 but since then we've been celebrating the start of the new year on January 1st

I have learned that people are going through a lot of their own issues so don't worry about them. When people bump into me in the hallway or step on the backside of my shoe I don't get mad anymore; I realized they probably didn't mean It. I realized this when I read Halon's razor which states: “never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity.” I used to let a lot of little things ruin my day after having a perfect day otherwise but not anymore. This has definitely helped me throughout the past year.
