Social media is widely used by people causing you to lose track of time because of something going on. Snapchat, Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter are the most widely used social media platforms, limit the amount you are on these platforms as they can be addictive. Also streaming networks such as YouTube, VH1, MTV, and Netflix can be distracting and may cause you to become ingulfed in a series or show and push doing your work back. This ultimately leads to procrastination. Leaderships and procrastination don't do well together especially when you're worried about following others instead of leading academically, socially, and in many other aspects of life.

Ever ask yourself questions ? Where is my homework ? What homework do I need to do tonight ? What am I supposed to do ? What are we doing in this class ? These questions are all due to lack of organization. Not knowing what you are doing or where things are not good. You should always be attentive to where things are and where things are. Leadership and lacking of organization do not coincide. In order to lead others you have to be organized yourself, by knowing dates, where things are done, and what is being done for who and what.

Lack of time management is terrible for leadership development. When you lack time management you most likely will not know what to do, when things are due, and what you have planned. This will eventually lead to you having an unsuccessful future. Limit your time wisely and always make sure you have a set time for the important things. If you manage your time wisely you will be more successful and less stressed because you have a plan.

Distractions can come in many forms. Friends, family, and social media can all be forms of distractions. Distractions knock you track of doing what is needed to be done. To be a leader you have to limit the amount of distractions you have, some distractions such as emergencies aren't preventable but most distractions are. Distractions can be a hindrance to leadership development.

Many lose motivation in the eye of chaos or when things get tough. Lack of motivation can hinder you from doing many small things (not doing homework or assignments) and those little things will eventually add up and hinder you from doing something you planned (passing a class). In order to be a leader you have to see the light at the end of the tunnel and remind yourself that there are rewards from hard work. So as long as you work hard you should eventually achieve your goals which are very important to leadership.
