She died before she got the chance to see women vote. She also helped orphans and the elderly. She started the Harriet Tubman home for the aged and indigent in 1908. She died in 1913 at the age of 93. She was buried with military honors in Fort Hill Cemetery in New York. Amelia Earhart is known for many of her acclomsents. One of them is being the first WOMAN to fly across the atlantic twice! The first time she crossed she was not alone and had help from others, but she decided that she was going to cross solo...and she did. Doing so, she had broke the record for the longest nonstop distance flown by a woman. She has also crossed the U.S.A. and back. Another accomplishment of hers is being gifted one of the best planes (at the time). She did all of this despite being looked down on for being a woman.
