·        An approach to learning whereby ignorance is decreased in order to result with a wider perspective of the content covered in schools

·        A frame of mind that leads to acceptance and awareness of other cultures, opinions, and perspectives which is evident in their applications of their knowledge

·        Someone who helps others break down barriers in order to think more globally as a community. Someone who promotes a wider range of perspectives and acceptance on an international level.

·        Someone who is knowledgeable and up to date on global issues and cultural differences.
·        Someone who appreciates diversity as well as their own culture by having a place for in the world for everyone’s perspectives and opinions.

·        Introducing the idea when learning about the human organism that everyone is the same on the inside in order to promote relatedness among students from all cultures.

·        The use of biotechnology in many countries as an attempt to improve global issues. It demonstrates that even though there is a multitude of cultures there is a common thread of striving for the same results.

·        Depending on the topic that we are covering, I will ask the students to come up with a TOK question that can be answered collaboratively using the variety of backgrounds available in the class.

·        Ethics in Biology are a good way to explore world issues and crisis by discussing or responding to topics from endangered species to stem cell research as a method of discovering different personal opinions that have been shaped by their backgrounds. The goal is for students, and teachers, to build a greater awareness for the ethical topics covered in a Biology course.  

·        Looking into the variety of approaches that other countries and cultures use to address any global or local issues (bio-ethics)

·        TED talks videos that incorporate international-mindedness
