The theme is racism. When he got shot, police assumed that he was gang member, which he claimed not to be. Police also kept changing the story saying he robbed the store or he had a gun when it was only a snickers. In which in Newspapers annd the News didn't cover the truth and put out a sterotype black gang member in hoodie.
Another theme the story had was Point of view. The story goes through how every character feels, reacts, aand thoughts to everything. It basically telling you that everyone has a side or view to things and what you to understand their opinion.

Like I always tell Will,"If you dress like a hood, you will get treated like a hood. If you want to get teated like a man, you have to dress like a man. Simple as that. Its's how this world works. It stop being abput color of skin after a while and starts being about how you conport your self. Inside, too, but mostly out."

I liked this book because it is unique. It goes through many characters that are all diffrent and tell from their view. I also like how it is relatable to the real world. Many thing in the real world happen exactly like this and this show how the people that has unfornutaly have been through that feels. Overall the book was interesting and was a good reader. A good reader type books like these are books that arn't too hard to read but bigger kind of book that always have the reader begging to know what happens next.

This quote tells why the theme is racism. Instead of getting a fair trial they assume you're this, just because of the way you dress or look. She goes more in depht with it though and tells Will that is on your attitude or the ways you act(they way you put yourself out there) to others. Even without the color of your skin if you act violent, there going to assume your a violent person. Finally though there going to mainly assume off your skin though
