Sonatina No 1 - memorize by next week, try to add dynamics of when to play loud and soft.
Sonatina No 2 - use pedal, accent every note on the right hand, add dynamic such as crescendos and descrescendos
Sonatina No 3 - keep the piece even.
Dew Drops - dynamics
El Afilador -- good job with the book, add more staccato throughout the piece
Friendly Phantom: add dynamics staccato for this piece too and be careful when reading some of your notes
The Robbers: continue to study; try to complete the first page

3. Arpeggios: similar to your chords, make sure you're playing the right notes
4. Sonatina I: continue to work with the music a little more before memorizing it completely, make sure you're counting - don't rush! Make sure you're doing all the details
5. II: work on dynamics and played a little bit slower
6. III: continue to work on it, make sure you're reading your notes well and following the fingering (like the 1st movement); don't be afraid to work hands separate or to work one measure at a time
7. Dew Drops: make sure you're holding down the dotted half notes for their full count, review with the music often so it's completed by memory
8. El Afilador: slowly start to work on memorizing the piece
9. Friendly Phantom: really work on lines 3 & 4 and the last two lines - take them apart and know those notes
10. The Robbers: make sure you're counting 1+2+3+4+ throughout the whole piece to make sure your eighth notes are even, practice line by line so that you know your notes well

1. Good Morning to You- practice hands separate all the drop and roll move to hear softer sound in the end of each phrase. All passages you try to connect on one smooth move by 4.
After you develop technique then you put hands together and complete the piece.
2. From the Spirit World: 1. Add left pedal for the beginning and for last 3 measures. 2. As legato as possible. 3. cresh and diminuendo 4. subito p with left pedal as sudden change (echo). 4. Pedal always after the chords. 5. rit on the second page make to count correctly. also the ending you have to be on time for the very last note.

make sure that you practice the ending and strong accents with back power
Record Scales for pieces
Chords/Cadences for pieces (no name of the pieces, but only the name of the chord)
Arpeggios for pieces

Minuet in G- ensuring non legato technique, add grace notes with correct fingers.
Seascape: work on balance between hands: left sustained and soft like waves. Right melody - yacht sail follows the wind/ Peace and harmony with gorgeous landscape of the sea.

Jessica Waltz continue practice . Start with this piece next week.

Everything recorded except Minuet in G - need to work on having an every rhythm; maybe work in sections so that you know/practice the notes very well & fingering before memorizing

Toccata - focus on up to 34 (coda). Play hands separate, try hands together

Seascape - keep calm with the left hand

Minuet in G: Work on the transitions. Dynamics. Right hand louder than left hand. Count to fix any rhythms.

Toccata: Work on it single hands then together. Accents the stronger beats.

Seascape: Work on it.

Jessica's Waltz: Work on it.

In the Hall of the Mountain King: Work on making the fortes and accents louder. Make sure you aren't too quite with the pp. Give it a nice loud ending.

Nocturne - Beautiful job! We learned and read through the last page hands separate, so continue to practice hands separate and then work on putting it hands together to have the piece completed.

Please print out Sonatina so we can begin to learn this piece.

Toccata Ritmico - So far you had up to measure 16 completed, and today we learned 17-34. Continue to practice both of these sections as we prepare to learn the Coda next. Great job :)

Seascape - Please remember to practice this piece along with your other pieces to keep this piece fresh and sharp. To begin memorizing, take it line by line --> memorize the first line first, then the second, then the third, and so on and so forth.

Nocturne - This piece sounds great! Take your time with it and practice slowly, this way you have time to think about the next phrase coming up. Don't forget to add in your dynamics! There should be a good difference between piano and mezzo forte.

Sonatina - We just began this piece today and we made it through the first page, right hand only. Continue to practice the right hand and try out the left hand too. If it feels very easy, you can begin to put it hands together.
