A:
Deforestation is 24% part of global greenhouse gas emissions. Deforestation impacts the amount of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere in these 2 ways:
1) When the trees get cut down, the amount of carbon dioxide stored in them are released into the atmosphere.
2) Trees play a critical role in absorbing the greenhouse gases that fuel global warming.
Fewer forests means larger amounts of greenhouse gases enter the atmosphere and when it rains, there would be lesser trees absorbing water from the rain and floods would occur more frequently. Hence, it increases the speed of global warming.

2) What should humans do to reduce the negative impact on the environment?

A: 
Humans should selectively choose trees to cut rather than cutting down every single tree while the other trees try to help maintain some of the ecosystem functions. Humans should also selectively choose regions so that we could protect endangered species' habitats. Also, we should the 3 R's.
