A temperate deciduous forest at first sight contains a lot of tall trees that depending on what season you are observing the forest can either have a plethora or very little to no leaves on its branches. This biome is located in all different places such as, eastern Northern America, southwest Russia, Japan and eastern China, southern Chile, middle east coast of Paraguay, New Zealand, and southern Australia. There is a great variety of all different species of trees and animals included in these forests.

Because of all human activity that has been affecting these forests we have noticed that less than 25% of all original deciduous forests still remain today.
Many forests are now split and dissected into small fragments by fields and roads that we have built.

Sadly the majority of these forests are nothing but timber and small pieces of what they used to be. There are only a few full deciduous forests left today but the majority as we can see are severely spread out mainly through human settlement.

The introduction of exotic diseases that these trees are not used to from humans has proven to be very harmful to various tree species. Some instances we can see are from the Elm, and Chestnut trees.
Because of our dissection of a lot of these forests, a large amount of deer have had to disperse and have become more widespread. These deer have also grown exponentially in population and this comes with many negative effects. Deer affect the growth of trees, and flowers. They especially affect the growth of yew, yellow birch, and hemlock.
