1. To have an "environmental school patrol" that will check that each class has a trash can with a bag, that the electricity, AC and projector are turned off during recesses and at the end of the day.

2. That people use the bathroom properly and in a clean and respectful manner.

3. Conduct a few annual "cleaning days" in different locations around the city/country.

   Activities to be done outside of school:

   1. Ask the pupils to be the "environmental police officer" at home and to turn of lights at water if they detect a non-usefull usage.

It is also important to implement practical changes that assist children in their efforts to protect the environment, such as having bins for recycling that are accessible to students.

Setting an example is paramount. If teachers make responsible choices such as recycling and riding a bike or car-pooling to school children will learn that change is possible!

We can do a lot of activities in the classroom, but the most important thing that we can do with kids at school is recycling . It is fun and educational for them. They can collect recyclable materials , create a recycling station.

• The " Green Vocabulary" Wall: Create a dedicated space for words like sustainability , renewable, footprint, and a ecosystem.

• Upcycling Speeches: Ask students to bring a piece of "trash" ( an old bottle, a box) and give a 1- minute presentation in English on how they can reuse it.

2. Is there any activity you can initiate outside the classroom?
Yes, I can start or join a tree-planting activity in my community or schoolyard. I can also help organize a “clean-up day” in local parks or streets to reduce litter. Another idea is to encourage friends and family to reduce plastic use, for example by using reusable bags and bottles.

​The Idea: Turn students into environmental detectives who investigate how the school uses resources.

​How it Works: Armed with clipboards, students patrol the school hallways, empty classrooms, and outdoor areas during recess or after school. They look for energy leaks (lights left on, devices plugged in) or water waste (dripping outdoor faucets). They can leave friendly, student-designed "Thank You for Saving Energy" notes or "Friendly Reminders" on classroom doors.

​The Climate Connection: Burning fossil fuels for electricity is a primary driver of climate change. Conserving power directly cuts down those emissions.

Outside the classroom, I can start a “Green Walk” project. Students can walk around the school area, take photos of places that need care, such as litter, wasted water, or too much plastic, and then prepare short English messages to raise awareness. We can share the photos and messages with parents and the school community. This way, students become active citizens, not only learners.
