The stage manager should make sure that all the props or costumes being borrowed is to be returned and prepare a checkout sheet to easily identify who has informed that they are signing out of the production at the end.

Deputy Stage Manager -

The DSM needs to make a note of anything that goes wrong into a show report that will be distributed at the end of each show

Assistant Stage Manager -

Help directors and Stage Manager maintain organization. Using a checklist, make sure duties have been accomplished. Keep cast and crew occupied with appropriate tasks. Check out with Stage Manager. Compliment and thank crew.

Stage managers concentrate on scheduling rehearsals. They must also assume the position of attendance cop. They must remind people to show up.  



Deputy Stage Manager -

The deputy stage manager will follow the script and ensure all technical cues are correct and all crew members perform the correct effect in the correct timing. They also ensure safety of all tech runs and rehearsals and writes a report concerning the safety and well-being of the performers after every rehearsal.


Assistant Stage Manager -

Wear blacks and carry a small flashlight. Set the stage for each night of the show. Support and oversee all backstage work during the show. Wear a communication headset, give final call on headset during set changes when the set is in place.



Stage Crew -

Provides all technical assistance in scenery, lighting, sound, properties, wardrobe, and makeup, Build the scenery, hang the lights, record the sound, Move scenery on and off-stage, run the light board, mix the sound, assist with costume changes, place the properties where the actor needs them

The stage manager should run the design conferences and production meetings. They should facilitate the discussion and move things along swiftly, not allowing lengthy discussions to erupt. 

Deputy Stage Manager -

The DSM will need to create some paperwork for the show such as creating prop list, reading the script, photocopying the script for other members of the tech team, create a prompt book. They also need to attend rehearsals to add blocking notes and rehearsal notes


Assistant Stage Manager -

Read the script. Work with the Stage Manager to create and maintain the “Prompt Book” in a three-ringed binder. Attend weekly production team meetings to record any issues and communicate them to the Stage Manager. Help Stage Manager to be present during tech days, rehearsals, training newer employees with power tools and set construction.



Stage Crew -

Set up all equipments, lights, sounds, props, scenery, Adjust equipments to designer’s discretion
