         <description><![CDATA[<div><strong>Bridge</strong>- Parsons believes that the education system is the bridge between family life and wider society. This then allows the individual to learn more universalistic norms that society operates on rather than particularistic.<br><strong>Role Allocation</strong>-Davis and Moore argue that the education system selects and allocates pupils to their future work roles.this is through methods such as streaming and setting. this will encourage students to compete for the highly skilled jobs.<em>Marxists argue that its the most privileged that get the higher places in society.</em><br><strong>Economic</strong>-Durkheim claims that the education teaches students specialist skills and knowledge needed for them to play their part in economy. N<em>ew right claim that the UK is falling behind its competitor</em>s.<br><strong>Social Control- </strong>have to cooperate with people who your arent friends with in both the work place and school. Therefore schools will socialise students so it will allow them to be successful later on in life. <em>Marxists claim this makes working class pupils accept working class jobs.<br></em><strong><em>Transmission of cultural values</em></strong><em>- P</em>assing down shared values from generation to generation such as english and history.<em> Schools now have a wide range of subjects and have increased cultural diversity.</em></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>A structural , Macro and conflict theory.<br><br>Bowles and Gintis argue that capitalism requires a workforce with the kinds of attitudes, behaviour and personality types suited to their roe as alienated and exploited workers willing to accept hard work,low pay and orders from above.<br><br>they believe that the role of the education system is to reproduce an obedient workforce tat will accept inequality as inevitable. Overall, they conclude that schooling helps to produce workers that capitalism needs.<br><br>Bowles and gintis argue that there are close parallels between school and work in capitalist society:<br>both of them are hierarchies- a school has a head teacher and a capitalist business has a boss or owner.&nbsp;</div>]]></description>
