From my point view i think that marble has its maximum gravitational potential energy at the highest point on the roller coaster because gravitational potential energy is potential energy that is stored and increases due to a force or change in system . This occurs when the marble is climbing uphill, the formula for gravitational potential energy due to the gravity is GPE=mgh...units are in joules . As the object gets closer to the ground , its GPE decreases while its kinetic energy increases. This is located in two places of the coaster where the marble proceeds up in a vertical direction . This makes the marble slow down , but gains energy for the next part of the roller coaster

I think As the object gets closer to the ground, its potential energy decreases while its kinetic energy increases. This is located in two places of the coaster where the marble proceeds up in a vertical direction. This makes the marble slow down , but gains energy for the next part of the roller coaster When the train begins to climb the next hill on the track, the train's kinetic energy is converted back into potential energy, decreasing the train's velocity. This process of converting kinetic energy to potential energy and back to kinetic energy continues with each hill. The energy is never destroyed, but is lost to friction between the car and track. Brakes bring the ride to a complete stop.

At the bottom of the loop, gravity and the change in direction of the passenger's inertia from a downward vertical direction to one that is horizontal push the passenger into the seat, causing the passenger to once again feel very heavy. Most roller coasters require passengers to wear a safety harness, but the forces exerted by most loop the loop coasters would keep passengers from falling out.

The gravitational potential energy is : is the energy an object has due to its position above Earth, energy due to its height. The first student depends the amount of gravitational potential energy an object has depends on its mass and its height above the Earth's surface. The second student said that its not related to gravity and the gravitational potential energy will be low.

Conclusion:

The first student is intent on physical law.

From my opinion, I think and agree with student one who thinks that the marble has its maximum gravitational potential energy at the highest point on the roller coaster. Gravitational potential energy it is the energy an object has due to its position above Earth, energy due to its height, the equation of gravitational potential energy is GPE=mgh, so the gravitational potential energy depends on it's mass, force of gravity and height. Remarkably as the student said the marble on the roller coaster has it's maximum potential energy when it is in the highest point on the roller coaster, because as the law in physics describe the height an object is at effects the amount of gravitational potential energy acting on it. The reason I am not standing with student two is that the marble when it is in lowest point it has a minimum amount of gravitational potential energy and a maximum amount of kinetic potential energy as the law says, it will have a maximum amount of kinetic energy in the lowest point is because velocity will be acting on the object while it is going down.

in my opinion, i think that the marble has its maximum gravitational potential energy at the highest point on the roller coaster because potential energy is basically stored energy in an object and it depends on the mass of the object and its height above the Earth's surface. When the mass is big and it is on the highest point the potential energy is high. i disagree with the second thought which is that the marble has the maximum gravitational potential energy at the lowest point on the roller coaster because it doesnt make sense to the laws of physics because the gravitational potential energy is at it greatest at the highest point of the roller coaster and least at the lowest point

I agree with the first student, because the concept of potential energy, referred to as energy of position. The amount of potential energy in an object depends on its height. The higher you place an object, the more potential energy it has. The bigger the drop in height, the faster the marble will go. As a marble gains height it loses speed and loses potential energy. While i disagree with the other student, because when a marble speeds up it loses height.

the marble has its maximum gravitational potential energy at the highest point on the roller coaster because the amount of gravitational potential energy in an object has depends on its mass and its height above the Earth's surface , so when the object has big mass and its in the highest surface or in the highest point it will reaches its maximum potential energy due to its mass and the distance between the earth surface and the point where the object has stoped on the highest point .

When the marble stops at the top of the hill because of friction , gravity and gravitational potential energy . Gravity pulls the marble down . gravitational potential energy is the greatest at the highest point because of the speed is zero and the position although the mass of the marble cant effect the speed , friction or gravitational potential energy . After the marble moves the gravitational potential energy will change to kinetic energy and the speed will increase while the hight will be lower .

From my perspective, the view that is right and makes sense is the first view, where the gravitational potential energy is at its maximum when it is positioned at the highest point. The gravitational potential energy is the energy that an object has due to its position above the earth and its formula is ‘GPE = mgh’ and according to that the gravitational energy is directly proportional to the mass ,gravitational accelerattion( which is constant) and height from the reference level. Consequently, the marble’s Gravitational energy is effected by the height where it increase as it gets higher. That completely disagrees with the second student’s view. Where he/she unfollowed the physics law by trying to agree that it has the maximum height at its lowest height. However, the kinetic energy is the one that peaked its maximum because all of the gravitational potential energy that the marble had at its maximum was all converted to kinetic energy because in the physics world energy is neither gained nor lost but its conserved, according to The law of conservation of energy.

From the definition of gravitational potential energy its an object lifted up in a vertical direction that has an ability to fall back to its original position, it has the potential to move (the object has gains (gravitational potential energy). The formula of gravitational potential energy is GPE=mgh (mass x gravity x height), but this part will only talk about the height in gravitational potential energy, the height(h) of an object changes the potential energy (PE) they are independent variable, as the height(h) is high the gravitational potential energy(GPE) is high which stores the ''energy'' as a result of position and shape, so the cause here is the height and what effected it is the energy(release or gain), position(high or low) and the shape, the reason why it lifts up in vertical direction is because it has a height.
