I started art school to become an illustrator, and while in school, I learned about digital media and my life has never been the same. As a descendant of a university department founder, teaching has always been an aspiration; with the vision of elevating those that come after us higher than we were elevated back in the day.

After learning about design and design thinking at the Royal College of Art, I was blessed to partake in the MFA Products of Design.

Courses from the RCA and SVA energized and led me to dream of a creative profession, transforming me into the professional I am today. It is this contagious energy and teachings that I wish to transmit to my students.

As an Animation Producer with over 30 years in the industry, it is an exciting privilege to experience the beginning stages of the creative development and maturation at SVA as students start thinking about a career in the field. It is definitely daunting and challenging, but my hope is to balance that with a sense of adventure, passion and inspiration. By introducing them to the industry expectations, roadblocks and more importantly the wonderful rewards of collaborative animation production, I can hopefully be a part of encouraging their creative engagement in the field.

As a professional animation director and illustrator, I am excited to mentor my graduate students with the knowledge I have collected over the years with both full-time employment, freelance, and self-directed business ownership. I am interested in the history SVA has with design, illustration, and cartooning and am looking forward to getting to know the batch of professors I have met in my recent travels to New York. As a curator in my field, I also am looking forward to connecting students with other opportunities and professionals to help amplify their practice in years to come.

I have experience as a full-time editorial photo director, where I commissioned illustrators, photographers, wardrobe stylists, prop and food stylists, as well as fashion models. I've produced celebrity cover shoots and fashion features both in the United States and internationally, all while maintaining an illustration career. Currently, I am focusing my time and energy as a freelance illustrator and educator. I am passionate about storytelling and excited to help my students convey their narratives through their work.

I am so excited to share with my students my vast knowledge and years of experience as a printmaker, artist and commercial artist. In addition to teaching the pedagogy of processes in the studio, I look forward to engaging with students to foster a sense of community which has always been at the heart of what makes printmaking special. Students will come from a variety of backgrounds and disciplines yet will be inspired and experience common ground and conversation through the art of making a print.

I am an anthropologist, recently graduated. I take an experiential approach to pedagogy, understanding that students learn through doing. As such I orient much of my teaching to learning the methods anthropologists use to decode, deconstruct, and understand culture.
