They started to introduce others to skateboarding because they didn't let others influence their behavior. I think we all need to let our kids know its ok to be an individual and build their confidence. I never really "found" who I was or where I "fit" until I realized that fitting everywhere was who I am. The young people in the article never knew that they could fit in this group until the option was made available to them.
