Thank you Rita and everyone for a lovely welcome and introduction. I liked it!

Rita, listening to your talk made it clear once again that things that are meant to happen, will happen.

Everyone, not just teachers, should think more about themselves and about being present in the here and now. 🙂

I learned today that teachers are the core of the school. In many ways teachers have been put in the really tough situation: preassure from the parents, preassure from the educational authorities and more and more from the media as well. The resurces (meens money invested in eduation) are not up todate and still everybody seems to excpect that teachers should keep up outstanding performance in educating, teching and raising up all these kids for the socierty. The preassure is high and if one is really conscientious, like many teachers are, it is easy to burn out or colapse with all these expectations.

Today I Learned… Today, in the Teacher First course, I learned more about the importance of well-being and mindfulness in my personal life, and about prioritizing myself as a unique and constantly changing human being. In this first session, I better understood the famous phrase by the Greek writer Pausanias, “Gnôthi seautón” – Know thyself. To succeed in the roles we play in our lives, we first need to know ourselves, discover our life's purpose, understand what makes us happy, identify our values, and focus on what defines us as unique human beings. If this is our focus, surely all the other roles we play will become easier and more successful. My role as a teacher will gain more meaning and purpose.

I also learned various yoga techniques and exercises that can help me in the path of self-discovery. It was a session full of sharing and learning among all the course colleagues.

Im glad to be on Guadalupe Island and meet diferents cultures. In this training "Teachers First" I learned to look inside myself. I learned to reflect deeply on what is most important to me as a human being and not as a social being. As a person I can be many things, mother, kindergarten teacher
, housewife...but above all I have to evaluate my priorities as a human being. The priority is ourselves, recognizing our values and capabilities. I also learned that we are constantly learning, we learn through
our experience, our interest and our motivation, the same happens with our students. The child is responsible for their choices and their learning.
The yoga class was an asset to relax and exercise our body and mind. This class was practiced in nature and to the sound of the sea and provided us with peace and calm. This activity will be a good educational tool to carry out with our students.
The exchange with other colleagues in the training was enriching. We had the opportunity to learn about their cultures, language and ways of living in their countries. Thank you for sharing your knowledge. Iconstantly learning.

In the first training session, I had the opportunity to meet people from different nationalities and experience a bit of their various cultures and traditions. These were enriching moments of sharing. The activities we engaged in were very interesting. I learned that it is important to value myself and get to know myself better. Doing yoga was an experience that provided me with moments of relaxation and energy. It was very nice to do it in an environment close to nature and by the sea. The combination of these elements was very harmonious.

Sorry for the delay ;). The first day was a nice introduction of ourselves to the group ending up in an intercultural culinaric exchange :). I never knew how sweet Portuguese wine can be until then. We also heard a lot about Guadeloupe and the place to start is a perfect area with a nice little beach and outview. The name exercise was surprisingly cool though I was a bit doubtful at the beginning. Looking forward to the further process :)
