There are many other ways to strengthen students skills,  capture their attention and inspire their love of learning.

As students move into high school, they are enrolled in a wide variety of classes which begin to introduce more challenging and rigorous concepts. Because of the depth to which topics and concepts are explored in high school, I could see how homework could be beneficial to students in some ways. It can serve as further enrichment, giving students an opportunity to practice and apply what they have learned, and it can also provide a method for reviewing content before the next lesson. However, homework at the high school level can also be an added burden. High school students take complex high school and college-level courses while simultaneously juggling athletics, extra-curricular events, college preparation, and employment, most of which take place after school hours. With all of these responsibilities, homework often takes a backseat or is simply omitted completely.
